Gretchen's - Sun Valley

The ambience in the lodge is fantastic this time of year. The place was very busy thus the food came out slow however the staff was very friendly and kind. Food was excellent- all items we ordered especially the elk chili. Definitely will be back.

Pretty bland spot. Ok food. Drab interior with poor lighting it would be so much more pleasant if they improved the light. Feels like you’re eating in a cave. Service was perfectly good

We went very early. Very roomy. Food very good and the waitress was wonderful.

Good atmosphere, good service, food is generally good, but not memorable.

I was extremely disappointed in the quality of the food. This was not our first time at Gretchens, and we are used to a much higher quality. It was the worst steak I've had. The cook was over, the meat was dry and under seasoned. The vegetable hash would have been perfection if it hadn't been served cold. The service and atmosphere were wonderful and as expected. I did not complain about the food because I didn't want to embarrass the server. I hope Sun Valley works on improving the quality and consistency of their food in the future.
