Our server w... read more We popped in for dinner after a long day of sightseeing in Sulmona and we were immediately welcomed by staff who sat us at the table of our choice. Our server was quick to greet us and was friendly and knowledgeable. She assisted us with detailed information concerning the menu and made recommenations as to possible food choices. After placing our order our food was delivered quickly and was served hot and delicious. The entire atmosphere was relaxed and friendly and the service overall was excellent.

The fact that the restaurant was filled with local guests was a good sign, and they were there for a good reason. Our pasta and ravioli dishes were delicious. Service was friendly and efficient, and the atmosphere was genuine and fun. Excellent value also.

The antipasto buffet was okay, mostly shredded vegetables. The roast lamb wasn’t tender and came with a few leaves of rocket. The carafe of white wine was pleasant.

We were given a nice table without a reservation. Our waitress was attentive and efficient and we spoke enough Italian and she spoke enough English, so that there was no misunderstanding. The food was “delizioso”. Simple but fresh local ingredients and a very good mezza carafa of house wine at very reasonable pricing made this the best dining experience we had in Sulmona. After dining elsewhere the next night we came to the conclusion we should have gone back to the Hostaria. It was that good!
