I like this pub and where it is located, I had already visited many before the past with the family, but recently she paid a visit adult and two children, a drink each and a few krisps only three alcohol drinks. orange juice and limonade at this place they will reset next time I just won't bother and take my own food and drink, shande, although it is too expensive now. We have visited this restaurant multiple times, primarily because of its convenient location and the quality of the meals. However, we often feel rushed during our visits. The staff frequently push for our food order within minutes of being seated, barely giving us time to enjoy our drinks. Even when we politely ask for more time, they return shortly after to take our order, and our food arrives quickly afterwards. Our dining experience can feel rushed and more like fast food, with the staff even asking about dessert early on because the chef wanted to leave early. It's quite absurd how quickly they try to get customers in and out. While it may be suitable for those in a hurry, it seems like they prioritize speed over customer satisfaction. They may need to consider treating their guests better if they want to keep their jobs.
We visited today after having not visited for some time as we were dissatisfied with the inflated prices and quality of food before. We went back today and the staff were very helpful and friendly and good service. The pub has the lovely old pub feel...and the wood burner was on. However, the food had not improved just got more expensive and the quality remained substandard. for a baguette with a few chips. There is no choice of bread (white pappy bread only) and the price seems too much for what you actually get. It could be so good but they appear reliant on having the monopoly in the area and don't invest into quality, it could be so much better.
Great pub with great atmosphere, a ‘proper pub’ rustic certainly not spoilt by lots of modernisation . Food was delicious we had the lighter lunch menu , fish was plentiful fresh well kept beers . Staff were lovely very accommodating....Plenty of space to socially distance if desired . Super location with some great walks nearby . Would def recommend a visit to the Ferry boat .
Excellent Sunday Lunch. The Beef and fresh vegetables were cooked to perfection and lovely crispy roast potatoes. The atmosphere was nice in a very traditional old world pub. The staff were attentive without being overbearing and an asset to the pub . A really enjoyable...visit to celebrate our ruby wedding anniversary. Thank you
