Three vegans visited this restaurant for breakfast and had a wonderful experience. We enjoyed the delicious vegan fritters that were served with our meal. The service was excellent and the atmosphere was lovely.
We sat at an outdoor table and had a pleasant waitress take our order. There was some singing coming from the waitress and the chef. Our drinks arrived quickly, but after 45 minutes, we still hadn't received our Caesar salad and burger. My partner went inside to check on our order and the waitress apologized. Shortly after, the chef came out and reprimanded us for being impatient. He reiterated that all the food was freshly prepared and that they were busy. Eventually, the salad arrived, but we had to wait even longer for the burger to come out. By the time my food arrived, my partner had already finished his meal. When we went to pay, the chef was rude to another customer about it being cash only. He then lectured us again about his fresh ingredients. I couldn't resist and told him that if he stopped singing and focused on cooking, maybe he could serve dishes on time.
The cream soda float instantly transported me back to my childhood, while our son loved his hotdog, cheesy chips, and Oreo milkshake. Although the restaurant is small, it has a warm and welcoming family vibe. The staff were friendly and we had a great experience during our visit.
Perfect pancakes (maple syrup ratio bang on, as per my wife lol) Friendly service and lovely food. Delphines is a step back in time whilst serving up excellent food. Door stop toast and good portions. Also pooch friendly. Worth walking to end of the high street for.
We found Delphine's on our way to the beach. It is a fantastic little island of kitsch 1950's Americana is what is otherwise a very lovely, but one note, high street (think Waitrose By The Sea). I had my very very food fussy 12 year old daughter, Paddy, a well behaved Labradoodle and my daughter's sugar loving friend with me. My daughter asked for a special order, (burger with plain bun, and chips, no relish, no salad) which the lovely man cooking and even lovelier waitress made it very clear was not a problem. When we arrived, there was only a two seater in the corner available, and, as there were three of us, I asked if we could move to a bigger table if one became available. That was also not a problem and as soon as a bigger table was free, they prioritised cleaning it up, and we moved. Some of the fresh ingredients needed for the milkshakes on the menu hadn't been delivered that morning, but we had that explained before we ordered. My daughter's friend ordered an Oreo Milkshake which was bigger than she was. She finished it. We all had different burgers and they were all absolutely delicious. When we go back to Aldeburgh, we will be heading there again!
Discovering this themed 1950s diner in Aldeburgh is a delightful experience for both locals and visitors. The restaurant offers a wide variety of vegan options alongside classic meat choices, ensuring everyone finds something to enjoy. The decor is charming, the service friendly, and the atmosphere fun and relaxed. From pancakes to hot dogs, the menu features delicious dishes that cater to all tastes. Despite the occasional hiccup with service, the overall experience is positive. This diner is a must-visit spot in Aldeburgh, where customers can indulge in tasty food, welcoming staff, and a nostalgic ambiance that transports diners back in time.

Amazing decoration! a visit is only worth for the atmosphere, from the music to the mirror ceiling. without a book that had luck when others came after us when the tables were full. only cash, but the personal allows the order before it. at the point of the cash (a few minutes away, at Co-op.) the service is not fast, but it is beautiful and fresh. the toilets were a bit a secret not hard to use ' and different warning signs, and could not find a flush button
We loved this place for lunch today. fantastic hot dogs and burgers with many veg / vegan options. all tastefully and beautifully presented. also large milk shakes/desserts all in quirky american diner environment. if we wouldn't leave the opposite tomorrow, I would definitely go back for a knickerbockerglory! it is not a big place, so safe to book or go in a quiet time.
In pouring rain a great foundation to cheat us with good eating and friendly and helpful service. also an eier allergy very preservation.
Was here a handful of times before it was in the regular a brilliant experience, but this time it was not. they gave the table next to us meat when they asked for vegan. when our food came, they lacked a teller the waitress. seemed not to notice until it was said and had to wait at least minutes until my friends come to eat. they have not apologised or seem to regret in any way. we have that it is very small, but that is terrible service. we had paid for the pancakes, but when they had come, it was small pancakes and a piece of speck and a ice just didn't seem worth the price. the waitress was beautiful, although she always singed very loudly. will not be back again, was very relaxed.
My wife I ate here yesterday. It’s a quirky place, I had a burger my wife a hot dog. The portions were huge and very tasty.

There seems to be loads of nice vegan options here and the interior is really lovely. I chose the chilli chips which were fine if a bit unexciting. However, the staff attitude was pretty rude. I asked what was in the vegan chilli (if it was lentils or vegan mince) to which the guy responded pork, beef, lamb . I think it was supposed to be a joke but it left us confused. Why offer loads of vegan options but then choose to try and ridicule customers? He seemed rather defensive at being asked simple questions about the food and really didn 't seem to want to be there. Other customers seemed to be getting the same difficult treatment and it was all quite awkward.
So much choice, all American diner, homemade everything and delicious. A great little place.
I loved the menu, there was practically a vegan option for every meat one! I ordered a vegan hot dog with cheese which had lovely fresh bread and came with amazing fries. Can’t wait to go back and try the rest of the menu!
Loved the homemade burgers. There’s a separate vegan menu with lots is burger/hot dog topping choices. The diner has a lovey feel and I would definitely recommend
