Fabulous little spot in subi with a Colombian twist. The service was exemplary with such an enthusiasm for the food and explaining the origins and backgrounds. Everything was so delicious. The deep fried halloumi was utterly devine and well worth coming back for. The passion fruit juice was equally scrumptious. What Reyna Muller doesn't like about La Playa Cafe:
to my disappointment the place has changed the owners. what is useful to be a pulsating menu that brings a taste of South America is now just a run of the mill café. it is regrettable that the foods of my opinion were exceptional once and I can accept the fact that it would never be as great as Colombians or other parts of South America, it was really very good. well, if you create a menu that simply sticks to the st... To my disappointment the place has changed owners. What use to be a vibrant menu bringing a taste of South America is now just a run of the mill café. It is unfortunate because the food in my opinion was once exceptional and whilst I can accept the fact that it would never be as awesome as Colombia or any other parts of South America, it was genuinely very good. Now, well when you create a menu that simply adheres to the standard menus throughout Perth, it really seems like a waste of a good thing. Sorry but it was extremely disappointing to see what it has become. P.S. The coffee tasted like Milk with a bit of coffee flavouring, maybe due to baristas or change of coffee beans, again disappointing when compared to the previous standard.

The deep fried halloumi was utterly devine and well worth coming back for. The passion fruit juice was equally scrumptious. The quesadilla with cheese and chimichurri dipping sauce was so delicious I ended up eating my wife's share as well! (Bad husband) All in all this is definitely becoming a firm favourite and goto place when in subi. You won't be disappointed AA++ WILL BE BACK FOR MORE....SOON!
This place is good for a mix up of South American food. Food always taste good and staff are always nice. Nice chill out environment with latin tunes cranking
La Playa cafe certainly doesn't play around. The food is delicious, trying both the Frijoles Mexicanos with Chorizo and the Patacon Latino with Smashed Avocado I was very impressed. The staff are very friendly and the food is prepared quite quickly, can highly recommend to anyone looking for something a little different but still authentic around Subi.
Had a great coffee and juice and the empanadas were delicious! Such lovely people and a great little outdoor space to eat under the trees. Maravilloso!
