Blackbox Brewers - Subiaco

I have been hankering to try blackbox brewers for a while, especially when i saw one of their baristas won an award for being a bad ass coffee brewer! So i had high hopes when coming here! Previous reviewers do have a point, the coffee blend is really weak and very subtle. BUT in saying that i think that every time you frequent a new cafe, you have to work out the kinks to find out how the blend can suit your taste and how you can improve it to be how YOU like your coffee! Give this place a go because the brew didn't give me horrific heartburn because it was so bitter and it went down quite nicely. It is an extremely subtle, sweet and tasty blend. Normally i would order sugar  (i know sacrilege!) because other places are too bitter but blackbox is really nice and i think you can do without it! So i would say:+ order stronger than you normally get - long mac or extra shot+ get it extra hot if you've commuting or drink it straight away :) Overall blackbox is worth a try, it is a nice little cafe with relatively well priced coffee for what you get! its 4.50 for a 12oz which is quite big and 5.50 for a 16oz which is good value in the CBD - especially for quality coffee. Finally, sorry for the rant but the staff are sooooooooooo nice! I got served by a rather nice gentleman with dark hair who was up for a chat and made me feel so welcome even though they were quiet - would return to talk to him again! :)

Dropped in her with the wife for a sneaky coffee. Love the simple, clean lines of this small cafe. It's a minimalist feel that works well. The coffee was very good. Great little cafe.

My first impression was Wow! What a funky lil joint.. I hope the coffee matches.. for $4.00 I received a tiny cup of so-so coffee (a coffee for ants springs to mind). Why is it - the less you get, sometimes means the more you pay?

After a poor experience with Blacklist Coffee from Little Matcha Girl in Como I was eager to give it another go. Needless to say this was no better. It might be the actual coffee that is not to my tasting and the fact the milk was super hot. So whilst its great that the lovely minimalist interior echoes Como and so are some of the pastry lines sadly the coffee just lets it down. I really wanted to like the coffee. The small cups are really small as well. Sad :(
