Contribute Feedback What Matthieu Pitre likes about El Amigo Jalapeño:
Food was good, service was slow even thought there was only 2 other people in the restaurant. But I beleive only 1 person was running the entire place. Girlfriend loved it a lot more than I did. She gives it 5 stars. I found the salsa and some of the dishes could have been more flavourful. Salsa was extremely mild and had no taste. View all feedback.

Doesn't break the budget and it's still is very good food. Fajitas are excellent.
Mexican atmosphere, the host was very kind, the bar area looks nice.
Absolutely fantastic house tacos. Great food, super authentic. Best Mexican I’ve had outside of the southern US and Mexico.
Awesome food, very cultural atmosphere. It's a great restaurant.
Not a good experience at all: went for dinner: 1. Front door has a sign saying “Use other door” ... an omen2. Odour of sewer the second we walked in3. It was very cold in the restaurant, no heat at all- kept my jacket on the whole time I was there4. Host took our drink and appetizer order5. Ordered a frozen lime margarita and it was tasteless, barely any alcohol. Bud light on tap but there was none when we tried to order it.6. Ordered beef nachos, the beef tasted unique, not really a Mexican flavor, and the salsa tasted like ketchup7. We asked for salsa verde but told they don’t have any, we asked for hot sauce and he hesitated and said it’s very hot... we had to prompt him to bring it when it arrived it tasted like ketchup with tobasco sauce, too hot for sure but NOT Mexican flavor 8. Host took our main meal order and left the menus on the table9. We ordered enchiladas ranchera.and a chimichanga... he brought our mains and I asked about the rice and beans and he said they were coming... they came but the beans were black beans tasting like they were out of a can with a watery brown sauce again, no flavor... the rice had a yellow tint and did not taste like anything Mexican. The chimichanga was supposed to be deep fried but it was cold inside and both mains had shredded cheese on top that was not melted at all10. Nothing tasted Mexican, everything was very bland and flavorless, cold restaurant temperature, not very inviting, host had to be prompted to provide service regarding hot sauce (a very Mexican condiment) and rice beans side dish, another host walked into the restaurant, took off their coat and immediately came to our table, then went into the bathroom area and came out with a bucket and walked with it right over to the bar area... this seemed very unsanitary and the whole experience made us leave and we will never go back.
