Very friendly service, delicious food, and great bier. Everyone was super helpful and kind to me, making me feel very welcome. Definitely worth your while to visit! View all feedback.
After a nice hike up through the trails adjacent to this joint, we decided to reward ourselves with some old fashioned German eats. There's plenty of outdoor seating with a small, sandy playground nearby. Decently priced meals start at 8€. Adult sized entrees are big enough for the heartiest appetites. I'm talking HUGE plates filled with food. Hubs got the Schnitzel which came with pommes frites and salat. Well seasoned fries.. Salat had a nice dressing and a side of potato salat in there. Schnitzel was perfectly thin and crusted well. The highlight was my cordon bleu. The cheese and bacon in my chicken was moist. I do wish the cheese was more evenly dispersed. Flavor was en pointe! It too came with salat and pommes frites. My friend got the salat with smoked salmon and pork...Great dressing ... Again monstrous portions! I do wish there was more salmon... Then again.. I always wish here was more salmon ; At the end of the meal, the owner.. maybe manager, came out and made sure we were satisfied and made some light conversation. I think he wanted to practice his English. He's probably the friendliest guy I've ever met at a biergarten. At the end of the meal, he was kind enough to give us some pear schnapps on the house! How generous?! It's worth it to come back here for the kindness alone. With plenty of parking and a nice forest behind it, I can't imagine a better place to spend a Sunday afternoon. Next time, we'll come back for their pies for dessert. Holy cow... They looked amazing! We were just so full from their mountains of food, that we just didn't have the space. Lesson learned... Share entrees and get me some pie next time!
Great ambience with huge beer garden and plenty of space for the little ones to play. Enough parking is also available to whom the driveway is very easy. Nevertheless highly recommended for a day in the green. The food is also delicious even if the announcement of the son of the innkeeper that the carving was the best in the area would not be quite true (something fad). Mouthbags and potato salad again very well.
Weitmann's is one of our standbys in Stuttgart. A favorite destination in the woods above Heslach with plenty of outdoor and indoor seating. Serves the Schwabish specialties - Maultaschen, Sauerbraten, Schnitzel, and more. Clearly a place that locals have been coming to for years. This is the restaurant that belongs to the Heslach Sportverein (Sport club), but don't let that association fool you - the kitchen is great and the service is always friendly and timely.
We have been here a few times and always been happy with our meals. We love the goulash and the schnitzel. The restaurant is self service but for the price it's worth it. The cakes are delicious and the service people and the owner are extremely welcoming. We will be back!
Through a friend’s recommendation we arrived to a packed restaurant featuring delicious regional fare at an extremely affordable price. At this restaurant you order at the cashier and pick up when your when your order is ready. Drinks were brought to our table. The floating...waitstaff were amazingly friendly, as was the owner. The food was excellent! Generous portions that were hot and delicious. All the dishes that passed by our table were tempting. There was an English menu for their standard seasonal menu. I had the daily special of venison with fried potato dumplings and my husband ordered a Rostbraten pan fried steak that was perfectly cooked. The atmosphere was relaxed. We ended up staying for close to three hours. There is an outdoor terrace which looks inviting for the warmer months as well as a playground for children. A great place to stop after walking in the wooded trails around the area. We will definitely be back !
