Ive been to this place heaps of times. I usually don’t reserve but this time I was forced to sit on a high stool and table (meant for people waiting for their seats) even though a lot of tables were empty. The food was ok, the staff from really nice to absolutely ignorant (especially the guy at reception). All in all good food but need better organisation. Perhaps now that they are real owned they can afford to be rude:
Nice ambiance but not authentic food and certainly the quality is not matching the first impression of the restaurant. Ordered salad, Sushi, Tempura Udon and desserts. Salad excellent, sushi mediocre, udon good but tempura overcooked, desserts fantastic. Condiments not of good quality. Red wine was off, but was replaced with a glass from a new bottle immediately. Very friendly service. Good restaurant if you know what to order... Would return but definitely not order Sushi.
We been here three friends because we were hungry for sushi. Tried out different type of fried and regular sushi’s, it was delicious and all three of us got enough. The prices were absolute ok for us. We loved the decoration inside of this restaurant but due to nice weather they gave us a table outside, which was very nice. Didn’t wait long for the food. This place has very friendly staff. Check out the pics.
It’s a very good restaurant, the food is fresh, inviting and creative. The reason I gave 4 as opposed to 5 stars was the cost. Easy sushi dish is about €5-8 and this adds up if you have a few. If it’s a special occasion of you can afford it then fill your boots, it’s delicious. Great attentive multilingual staff too
We have family in Stuttgart and have visited Mikoto over the last 4 years. Our dinner last night was not good and the fall in standard was clear. The rice in the sushi rolls were compressed like the type you’d get in a supermarket, the spinach sesame salad had an overdose of sesame seeds and the Yakitori skewers were drowning in sauce. The sashimi was fortunately still fresh and this part of dinner was a joy. Mikoto still serves trendy crowd-pleasing food. The Avolcano with truffle oil was fun. However it’s no longer the go-to sushi restaurant in Stuttgart we once knew. We also had difficulties contacting the restaurant. No one ever picks up the phone. Electronic table reservations doesn’t mean you don’t interact with your customers anymore.
