As a former regular at the Breuninger restaurant, I rarely come here anymore. The reason: I'm always annoyed at how they managed to convert the beautiful old restaurant into this run-of-the-mill dump. It used to have a truly comfortable atmosphere in the style of a French bistro, with lots of brass and comfortable furniture. Today, to the left of the entrance is the wooden furniture section, reminiscent of IKEA, in the middle is a misbegotten lounge area with extremely uncomfortable seating, and to the right is a boring, run-of-the-mill dining area, which is often overcrowded because the small space is the only way to eat at a table in a somewhat comfortable manner. This restaurant has zero flair and feels like a concept-less jumble of cabbage and turnips. Horrible. Also, the veal sausages with potato salad and gravy, which were very popular back then, are no longer available. And I also miss the homemade Maultaschen from the old days. It's a mystery to me how someone could have ruined a once great restaurant so badly a few years ago. It's a real shame. Oh yes, the staff is very friendly and the service is good.
When we're in Stuttgart, we usually go there for lunch. The food is very good, the atmosphere is pleasant, and the staff is exceptionally polite. Highly recommended!
The ambiance with its large rooftop terrace is nice. Since I'm vegan, I usually order fries and a small garden salad. They're currently serving the delicious vegan wild garlic soup again. The prices are a bit higher, but the fries taste better and are even cheaper than at the well-known fast-food chains. So: top!
We came here for coffee and cake, and I had higher expectations for the pretty little cakes. Nothing special, the sponge cake was very dry. The waiter was very nice, the ambiance was good, but again, nothing special. The glasses are sooooooo worn out... That's just unacceptable for a place like this in such a location.
