Description

At this beloved Youngstown restaurant, experiences vary widely. Patrons rave about the vibrant atmosphere and delicious broasted chicken, often recommending the house-made pizza as a must-try. However, service can be inconsistent, with notable delays impacting enjoyment. Instances of incorrect bills and lengthy waits for food have led some to rethink return visits. While certain diners cherish the nostalgic ambiance and friendly staff, others have faced disappointing meals and unaddressed concerns. With prices ranging from $10 to over $100, this eatery remains a topic of conversation, blending moments of delight with frustrating service for its diverse clientele.

I ordered the chili dogs and they were fantastic, the best I've ever had. They are broasted and the bun is grilled. If you're someone who enjoys your hot dogs well-done and crispy, you will love them.

The broaster fried chicken was outstanding and the pizza had a unique but tasty twist. However, the bar staff ignored me for a good 15 minutes and when I finally got their attention, they seemed annoyed by my request. Despite having a pickup order for chicken and pizza, it appeared that no one knew where my order was located. I couldn't find a specific spot for to-go orders, so I sat at the bar to inquire about my food, but the staff didn't seem too pleased with my approach.

Picked up pizza and it was made wrong. Toppings were only supposed to be on 1 half of the pizza. Was told it would be 25 minutes to remake. Came back to pick up and had to pick up at the bar. The owner was behind the bar. There was a waitress wandering around. It was 15 minutes before closing. Nobody said a word to me. No hello, can I help you or anything. A customer asks about being cashedout and the owner tells them he is waiting to close but they are waiting for an order to be picked up..uh..hellloooo! So I flag down the waitress and tell her I have a remake order and she goes to get it. She hands me the box and a bag. I look at the pizza remake and it looked like they just scraped all the toppings off the one side and piled it on the other then sprinkled a few shreds of cheese on the scraped half and cooked it again. Looked like a train wreck...so not only did I have to wait 25 minutes for a sub par remake but the broasted potatoes I ordered were soggy and cold...great dinner! And not an ounce of care or even an apology to compensate for the inconvenience.

This is the best pizza I have ever had, and believe me, I am a pizza expert.

We left without eating. It's very small and everything is compacted inside, that wouldn't be a problem, but there are too many tables inside, and they are right on top of each other. I'm talking rubbing elbows with the customers beside and behind you. Unsafe entryways, the stairs at the side are falling apart, and the flooring at the front door is uneven making me trip on my way out. Overall, it's just an old, dirty dive bar trying to be a restaurant. If they ever convert to an actual full-size restaurant, I might give it another try.
