Limited menu with something for everyone. Fabulous mix of flavours, good quality coffee and gorgeous cakes. Dog friendly too. Only downside is not open all week. On the pricey side but worth it! Been a few times and will continue in the future.
I recently had my 70th birthday celebration with friends and family at Caper, located at the gliding club in Nympsfield. We had a late lunch with a total of twenty-four people. The staff was friendly and helpful, the food was delicious and enjoyed by all. Special requests, such as a bacon sandwich for one guest and a children's menu for the four infants, were accommodated. We were informed ahead of time that service might be slow due to the large group, so we had some shared starters to tide us over. Main courses were preordered two days in advance. The atmosphere was relaxed, allowing us to move between tables and chat comfortably. The children had space to play outside under family supervision. Although we were initially given 90 minutes for our reservation, we were able to stay longer until our group naturally dispersed. Overall, everyone had a great time and my birthday celebration was perfect.
Caper, located at the Bristol and Gloucester Gliding Club in Nympsfield, is run by the same chefs who were previously at Thistledown. Tinkley Cafe is the new name for the former Thistledown location.
Great staff very pleasant too early to eat as they had to fire up the wood stove .But we will be back as it is great for lovely walks and good coffee
We've been lucky enough to eat at some very good restaurants over the years the meal we had at Caper was one of the best we've ever had. The veggie skewer (oyster mushrooms, courgettes, red onions with satay sauce plus amazing sweetcorn fritters with sweet chilli mayo and a green bean, coconut, cucumber salad with spicy sauce. It was like 3 meals in one with amazing flavours and textures, quite superb. and the service was excellent too they were very busy (no surprise) but the staff were cheery and even brought some free pistachios and apologised for the wait. All very refreshing !
