Apteka - Strip District

Excellent small plates, very accommodating of all allergies including a nut allergy (I have a severe tree nut allergy and survived sampling every single dish that could be made without nuts on the menu, as we ordered one of everything) and superb service.

This is our favorite restaurant. Everything I have ever eaten has been absolutely perfect.

Apteka is my favorite restaurant in Pittsburgh. The food is always seasonal and exciting, and I find myself introduced to interesting new flavors and textures. This is my and my boyfriend's most frequent date night spot. I would say about 80% of their dishes get 5 stars from me, with the occasional letdown. I always order a black pepper soda, a salad of some kind, and the kluskie slaskie.

I was really pleasantly surprised by this place. The entrance and ordering flow is a little strange, but the food was tremendous. Some of the best vegan food I have ever had, and the menu is really creative. We had the classic steamed pierogis, beet soup, and an almond cream cake. Pierogis were incredible, and the cream cake was much better than I expected it would be. Atmosphere is cool, would go back.

The waiting experience is TERRIBLE, only visit if you have a lot of time to waste. Arrived at 5pm, waited for 40 mins before a staff attended to us, and told us to leave our phone number as there is another 45-60 minutes of wait.
