We were told in an extremely unfriendly manner by the boss around 12 noon that the restaurant wasn't open, only the beer garden. We actually wanted to leave because of the speech, but had to stay because the children were hungry. It took 30 minutes to order, after 40 minutes we finally had drinks. After about an hour of waiting, the food was quite decent, but nothing more. But ok for a beer garden. We didn't get a second drink. Overall, not a very nice experience. I thought about giving it 3 stars because of the decent food. But such treatment of the guest (mind you by the manager of the restaurant) is impossible.

Outside the seats is possible in summer time, but not recommended because of the amount of tourists who brush your table. If possible avoid weekends or holidays, or at least book.

The exterior seats are located directly on the central square and have a great view. Love for lunch when I'm in Straubing.

It is a traditional place, not too dark Bavarians seem to love places on the dark side , cosy gemütlich . Good service, good food, good drinks. Everything very much okay, and recommended, and nothing exceptional: a good 4-star-place that won 't disappoint you.
