The staff are friendly, and they serve fresh, delicious cafe-style food at a great value. Despite its unassuming exterior, the restaurant has a very extensive menu for its size. We are excited to try one of their steaks next time we are able to go out. It is clear that Ali's Steakhouse has a good reputation, as it is always bustling with customers.

We decided to order a single portion of fish and chips with marrowfat peas, which was priced at £4.50. The portion of fish and chips was generous and the fish was of good quality, although the batter was a bit heavy. Despite not accepting card payments, the cafe provided great value for money with decent quality food. The peas were especially tasty. Luckily, my wife was able to pay using cash.

Don't expect fine dining or frills, this is no-nonsense food of surprising quality. I had a fillet steak with mushrooms £11! a great side was sweet chilli mash. A totally unexpected find on the road from Derry to Belfast (scenic route).
