I was out for a low key date night with my h... read more Being a woman of color it pains me to write a bad review for a black owned restaurant, but this place was horrible. I was out for a low key date night with my hubby and thought we would try a new place. Wrong move. When we walked in we were greeted by the stintch of a sour mop. It took a while for the hostess to come greet us so we stood there looking clueless as a waitress, who did not acknowledge us, walked by heading to the upstairs level. Once we were finally seated, our waitress was not familiar with the menu and could not confirm the amount of wings you get with a combo dinner, but she was very sweet and personable. Her personality was the highlight of the evening because the food was horrible. The cornbread was flavorless and dry. It NEEDED the cinnamon butter that you have to pay extra for. The wings were not crispy and was cooked in old grease it had the old grease taste and was covered in the black drippings from the old grease. The collard greens were ok. Mac and cheese had no flavor and some pieces of the candy yams were flavorful and other were not. I ordered a Peach Margarita, but received a regular Margarita. It was well made even though it's not what I ordered. My husband ordered a grey goose with pineapple juice, but received some concoction of soda water, pineapple juice without vodka. Glad we tried it, but we will not be returning.
