Lynch’s is fortunate last minute find for a belated 50th birthday treat Ms. Lauren reserved a table for us last night 25 minutes before we reached Lynch’s. She was considerate and explained on the phone that only the small dining room is available. During dinner, she checked on us twice if everything’s okay!! Lynch’s staff were very busy running back and forth for their diners and yet Ms. Brenda asked us if we’ve been served (We did not have to call her attention. . She immediately took our her order pad. Water, warm bread and raisin bread were immediately served. We were hungry and welcomed the complimentary bread. Not long after, our Ceasar Salad and Chicken Wings were in front of us followed by the Chicken Barley soup. My guests were pleased with all the food. Our Seafood Fra Diavlo (fresh calamari, clams, scallops, shrimps and tender Mixed Grilled Meat (beef, chicken, sausage with mushrooms, mashed potatoes and perfectly prepared mixed vegetables were all delicious. Their dishes’ portions are generous and reasonably priced. Our main courses also included the cup of soup. Most noteworthy is the attentive staff of Lynch’s. They have warmth towards their customers even if it was our first time there. Thank you so much Ms. Lauren and Ms Brenda!!!
Food is okay, service is good, and the atmosphere is split between bad and okay since it's great for families and seniors but terrible for young couple dates. This restaurant is quite hidden, especially for those who aren't locals. I often check Google Maps during lunch breaks to find nearby places to eat, but I had no idea Lynch's even existed until I stumbled upon it in my nearby Yelp feed, almost a year later. It seems Lynch's moved to a new location about a year ago, which may explain its obscurity. This experience serves as a reminder to stay alert and aware of your surroundings. I certainly didn't expect to find myself dining at a golf course, but here we are. If you’re coming from Route 202 and have never been here before, be careful not to miss the turn. The signage for the restaurant primarily faces southbound drivers, which caused me to miss it on my first attempt. I think it would be helpful to provide clearer indications for northbound travelers in the future. Also, I realized while in the parking lot that parking next to a golf course comes with its own risks. While there were plenty of nets nearby, I did give the Park At Your Own Risk sign a good glare as I passed by (much easier to see than the restaurant's sign). Thankfully, my car was fine; the gentleman on the putting green didn’t seem like much of a danger. The fall colors were absolutely stunning, so even if the meal had been a disaster, the scenery made the trip worthwhile. The atmosphere is a bit hard to pin down, but my main takeaway is that the bar/restaurant isn’t their primary focus. Judging from the adjacent dining areas, it seems they concentrate more on catering events than on daily customers. There were at least two banquet-style rooms. While you could have lunch there, it felt more appropriate to sit at the bar or one of the nearby high-top tables. It’s an interesting experience to dine with prominent views of trophy cases and golf pencils in the main area of the club. This golf course isn’t what I’d call fancy compared to others in the tri-state area, but I did notice many older gentlemen engaging in conversations about Westchester and Manhattan in one part of the bar, while local folks from Rockland sat in another area, which created a unique lack of diversity. The staff at the bar were very friendly and welcoming. I received a menu right away, and it was easy to get their attention whenever needed since they were always close at hand. I ordered a plain hamburger cooked medium rare with a side of fries. To be honest, it wasn’t great. The burger was unevenly cooked, with most of it closer to well done, which I find rather bland. The middle bites were the tastiest since they were more medium rare, but overall, the burger was quite greasy, and I had to be careful as the grease dripped onto my hands. I wouldn’t order it again, although I did appreciate the inclusion of an English muffin, which I think is an underrated choice for a burger. The fries were decent; they definitely needed ketchup for flavor, but they were crispy, which I prefer, and served their purpose well. Overall, it’s difficult to imagine returning for another meal, but the excellent service and staff make me think that this place may be more suited for events like birthday parties than for a casual Thursday lunch.
