During my stay nearby, I had the pleasure of dining here several times. The food was exceptional and fairly priced, and the staff were incredibly friendly, providing excellent service. Additionally, it's dog-friendly, which is a great advantage for those traveling with pets.
I visited the Open Arms a few times while on holiday and found the locals to be friendly. However, I have to disagree with a previous review regarding the landlord; he seemed more focused on his appearance than on the customers. The Cokes were somewhat weak and had an unusual taste. I realize they have recently taken over and are still getting settled in, so I remain hopeful for improvements. They mentioned they would begin serving food just as we were leaving.
Since relocating to the area, we've been exploring different pubs in the Kingsbridge, Dartmouth, and Totnes region, and we've dined at the Open Arms three times to ensure a thorough experience. Sadly, we haven't been impressed. The staff often seem to regard newcomers as an inconvenience, and the food has also been underwhelming.
