While many praised the attentive and friendly service, delectable food, and inviting ambiance, a few guests noted inconsistencies in menu availability and food quality. Highlights included beautifully presented dishes and standout cocktails, though some found portion sizes small for the price. Despite occasional service hiccups and menu errors, the overall atmosphere—a blend of relaxed elegance—made it a hit for special occasions. With ample parking and a commitment to safety, The Orange Tree remains a recommended choice for discerning diners.
The orange tree is a regular visit, as it is one of our favourites. we decided that we wanted to celebrate our 25-year anniversary with our family and have booked a table for 6. the first thing we have noticed is that it was absolutely full to burst what was unusual for the middle of the week. we really set ourselves fast and our server came to take our drink order. after 15 minutes the drinks had not arrived and I had to ask one of the mandatory administrators to find out where our drinks were. the drinks were picked up immediately and my drink was wrong, I ordered a pint of lime and soda when I drove, I got 300ml, I let it slide as all the other drinks were right. eating was a little slow coming out, 30 minutes too table from the order. I had ordered one of my favorite dishes, chicken supreme with a side of seasonal vegetables. When my court arrived, there was less than a teaspoon sauce on the teller, so I asked to go back to the kitchen. it came a minute later with a tiny bit extra sauce and a few extra lardons I didn't want to send again, but the seasonal veg had not arrived, so I had to ask for them, as well as the lobster sauce for my daughter fish. the seasonal veg was terrible. hanging over the edges of the small servier dish and boiled to death, they could press their fingers through the carrots, and the babyspinate and the long stem brokkoli were limp and lifeless. the chicken itself was nicely cooked and the sauce, which little I had was stunning and the gnocchi was beautiful. my daughter ordered the sea bass in tempura batter, she got sea bass cooked in a thick chip shop battery in the did her fish looked bigger than the portions that our chip store serves (and they are huge) and the sensitive sea bass filets lost in a morass of batter. all other dishes were beautiful. I ordered the sticky toffee pudding for desert and as usual it was a huge amount satisfied and not disappointed. I have to say that throughout the meal, the service was excellent, with beautiful friendly and polite coworkers. I have discussed my eating with the manager and in all fairness to the restaurant they do not charge for my main course. I feel that this was not more than a aberration, because the restaurant was too busy so that the kitchen can be finished, as we eat a lot in the orange tree and that is the first time that we had a meal. we will eat here again, because even with these disappointments they are still one of the best restaurants in the city and also on a bad day they are still very good.
Had a nice family dinner with family. the waitress who served us was very friendly. I had a vegan meal and dessert, which was well made and presented.
We had booked a table and at the arrival was our table not quite ready so we were asked to have a drink at the bar while we were waiting. After I got a drink in the loud and pretty busy bar area, I wasn't too. I don't have to worry. we said josh would look around. josh came long and imagined and we could order our ancestors while we decided on our main. when it was about ordering our nets, josh was very well informed about the menu points. as the evening progressed, josh looked at our needs and if one of the side dishes did not appear, it was quickly restored. while we were supervised by josh, the other employees we met were also pleasant, which offers a very nice total service. when a glass of a tablet was dropped back into the kitchen and was tied up, the personal that was concerned with it was really worried that we were not hurt by one of the glass pieces that reached near our table. the eating itself was beautiful and while not huge portions they were satisfied and no one remained hungry. the only down-dead was the evening in the restaurant the noise that generated above all the noise of others like the background music. While the cost of the evening was high, I felt that the quality and overall experience was worth what we paid. a great thanks to all the staff in the orange tree and especially on josh for a great work done.
