Take away pie and chips again during lockdown. Thoroughly enjoyed by all. Tender, tasty chunks of steak, light, crumbly pastry, gravy. Poor customer service from what I assume is the manager? A man wearing pink shorts, with grey hair. You’d think considering we were a wake, and had just come from burying our loved one, a smile or compassion may not have gone a miss. I wanted to taste the food. asked if food was available so ordered drinks, then asked them to book. I said no and was said if they didn't book, they can't have lunch. if we had known. we sat on a table and there were no reserved signs. not happy.

Was recommended by a friend because of the great beer an excellent eating. the Sunday roast beef and cheesecake had to end and by a pint of titan plumen porter, the superb. so the thanks to the metzger arms for a...big meal a great pint and a fair price
On Wednesday, 8th septmber, to lunch. I had the gammon, excellent choice. Not many people know how to cook gammon properly, cook its mostly left and hard. that was nice as the presentation and the rest of the meal. we had all six very good meals. we all go over north staffs on Wednesday and were turned off in another local pub on a hill because they had no eating? at least their loss was our profit. will return to the butcher army in the near future.
Had the homemade vegetable soup and the spicy beef with rice, both were amazing. Thank you Mark, excellent cooking as always .
