Hof's And Dining - Stoke-on-Trent

The food at Hof’s is excellent. Particularly the meat. But more broadly the menu has excellent choice and almost everything we have tried there is really good. Unfortunately on our visit a number of the choices were not available. The price point though does not make this a spontaneous “why don’t we just go to Hof’s tonight” decision dinner for 3 (one was driving) was almost £240. We were ummming and ahhhing about which wine to choose and we were offered something which wasn’t on the menu (you can buy wine at Hof’s, who have excellent South African wines where they are associated with the winery), but we were subsequently disappointed to be charged £20 corkage on a not to special £24 wine which we probably wouldn’t have chosen if advertised at £44 we were charged service on the corkage charge.

The bar had run out of some food and no GF beer. The food was sent back. Expensive for the quality of food

Unfortunately the service was poor when we visited. Took 20 mins for someone to come and take a drinks order an hour for the food to arrive and when we asked nicely how long the food would be the young staff member rolled her eyes and walked off. Felt like we were a hindrance rather than the staff being attentive to to their customers. Food was great but very put off by the service.

Food and ambiance very good but on this occasion (Mother’s Day) they were struggling with service despite a very restricted menu. However, the food, when it arrived, was wonderful. I have eaten here on a normal lunchtime and evening and it is usually 5 stars with the South African food being amazing and unique.

The best restaurant in Henley for steak and meat, incredible quality food and great service to match.
