Bistro Rouget - Stockton
Bistro Rouget
Description
Bistro Rouget offers a charming small‑town French bistro experience with bold, flavorful dishes, generous portions, reasonable prices and pleasant outdoor seating with occasional live jazz. Staff are generally friendly and reservations are easy, but service and consistency vary: there are reports of slow or dismissive service, limited menus on certain nights, occasional cleanliness issues, and unexpected closures. BYOB and cash-only policies mean plan ahead. It's a delightful spot for a relaxed evening—just expect some variability.

Had a lovely Mother's Day brunch here. Egg omelet dishes are amazing. Corned beef hash home-made. Highly recommended.
Bistro Rouget has become *the* place to eat on Monday night. Their sophisticated prix-fixe menu and draws people from all around who want something different from the normal fare. But call early, the locals have figured this out and flood in to pack the place every Monday night.Chef Brian Held, who owns a couple of other restaurants in the area (Brian's restaurant in Lambertville and Hamilton's Grill Room), has done a wonderful job bringing his French bistro style food to this quirky setting at the corner in Stockton direct me across from the Stockton market. On the weekends he now serves breakfast which is one of the most delicious around. His French toast is to die for! And specials like his lobster omelette, definitely make this different than your typical breakfast fare.Bistro Rouget is a BYO, which is great, because right across the street is an excellent liquor store within amazing collection of wine and specialty beers.if you're in the area and looking for a delicious meal in a friendly atmosphere, be sure to check out Bistro Rouget.
