Mcqs - Stirling
Mcqs
Description
McQues, a traditional pub known for its local specialties, has received mixed reviews recently. While some diners have praised the cozy atmosphere, helpful staff, and delicious homemade food, others have been disappointed by small portion sizes and burnt dishes. Complaints also include feeling discriminated against by the owner. Prices are considered fair, and reservation is recommended. Despite some negative feedback, loyal customers commend the restaurant's consistency over the years. For those seeking a classic pub experience with a home-cooked taste, McQues may still be worth a visit.

The service was pleasant and the staff provided good recommendations. The food was well seasoned, hot (perfect for Scots who like their food spicy), and served promptly. The chicken kebab was delicious, as was the steak and ale pie.
I arrived at McQs and met some friends outside. I was completely sober as I went to get a drink, but the owner refused to serve me. When I asked why, I was told it was because I was a regular at the Empire Bar in Bannockburn. I felt discriminated against as a loyal customer at both establishments. I will not be returning to McQs and will not be recommending it to others.
We were regulars of mcques but the past twice have been poor. We won't be returning. I got the special cod which was absolutely tiny. My mother's lasagne was burnt, very disappointing.
My partner and I as well as extended family are regulars here as it’s just down the road. Great for lunch or dinner. Fab service, reasonably priced and always a great environment. Best steak pie around!
