My girlfriend and I spent a very nice evening with good food and good wine in a very typical, old house, restaurant. The service was excellent and the atmosphere very familiar. We felt welcome and enjoyed this experience thoroughly. View all feedback.
What Rosa Marty doesn't like about Alte Post:
I picked this restaurant based on prior reviews for Swiss cuisine, but was rather disappointed. The limited seasonal menu was heavily veal/beef based. The food was ho-hum but priced at the high end. The most disappointing aspect was the understaffing, and being offered a dessert...menu 30-45 minutes after main course was cleared. Better deals elsewhere! View all feedback.
Intimate location, a very gentle personal and tasty and tasteful eating, self-labelling. we'll see soon.
We had never had Riesling soup before so I’m not sure Allen Post’s was traditional but it was truly wonderful! I would go back many times just for that. The atmosphere is quaint, the service was very professional and friendly and the food was very...nice.
Highly recommended, excellent cuisine, super service, good weine, selected digestifs. again and again!
The inside of the restaurant isn't all that nice but the patio is great--sitting out in/near Gallusplatz. The food is very good quality and the service is excellent. Prices reflect that. We shared a salad and a main course and they added CHF 13 to our bill which I had mixed feelings about. They did split it for us into nice portions (which we didn't really ask for) and the presentation was very nice. In any case, I would highly recommend this if you are looking for a very nice Swiss dining experience.
We ordered the surprise menu and were also surprised to our full satisfaction positiw. we were allowed to enjoy an excellent kitchen. the service was also at full house, with friendly humorous advice for the guests to place.
