Amber Grill - Stevens Point

I went out to dinner with my fiancé tonight to celebrate his service as a veteran, and it was our first visit to this restaurant. Unfortunately, our experience was quite disappointing due to the lack of attentiveness from the wait staff. The food didn't exceed expectations, which made the overall service feel even more frustrating. The only positive note was our wonderful hostess, Jessica, who gave us a warm welcome. However, we won't be returning to this establishment again.

We've visited this restaurant twice, and our first experience was better than the second. We sat at the bar, and the waitress took our drink order and brought our drinks, but then she disappeared to the opposite end of the bar. We waited with our menus closed for 15 minutes before another bartender came over to see if we wanted to place our order. It was a bit strange that the item my husband wanted to order was no longer on the menu. Overall, the food is quite good, but the service could use some improvement.

This fantastic restaurant is situated inside the Holiday Inn and Convention Center. I thoroughly enjoyed my burger, the "Fat David," which featured brisket, a burger patty, and fried pickles on a pretzel bun. My colleagues couldn't stop praising the salmon. The service was top-notch, the drink selection was impressive, and the pleasant atmosphere contributed to a truly memorable evening.

This place is way better than you average bar and grill that is attached to a hotel. The food is pretty good, the service is friendly, and they have a really good beer list that includes several locals. I will go back here again.

Based on our experience from this visit, wequickly made Amber Grill one of our favorite spots as their Prime Rib was one of the best I've had from the area which meantthat we would be stopping here at least once a month. Third Visit: 03/26/2022 We decided to eat here as we were back in thearea and wanted some prime rib. We ordered two 16oz prime rib together with a few things. We had an extremely disappointingexperience as our steaks came out raw twice (rare even after it came back in to the kitchen). The steaks were inedible as mywife usually gets hers medium while I get mine medium rare. I truly expected more considering we spent about $100 between thetwo of us just for the steaks. Things that were off: 1) the steaks came out raw. We had it sent back to the kitchen as weunderstand that mistakes do happen but it came back out still rare for both. 2) the steak as well as the Au Jus tasted likepizza for some reason. 3) There was a family who wanted to sit at a specific table/booth and the host refused to let themselect where they wanted to be seated until what I assume to be the manager said something, allowing them to take that spot.That was an odd conversation to overhear but I wish that their host was a bit more accommodating. Kaleigh was our server andshe was very nice and apologetic throughout our whole experience. I felt bad for her as I understand that servers have nocontrol over our food. We did ask if the chef was different because everything was just off about the food.
