This has become my favorite restaurant in the Cape. It’s a laid-back spot that serves incredibly delicious small plates. Each dish is so mouthwatering that you find yourself wishing someone would look away so you can lick the plates clean! The concept is all about sharing, allowing you to sample a variety of flavors. It’s best to bring along a few friends to help you tackle the menu. The atmosphere is relaxed and inviting. The manager, Jacques, is an outstanding host. He warmly welcomes you and is always ready to answer questions or help you navigate the menu alongside your waiter. The wine list is impressive, and as a wine enthusiast, I was thrilled to discover so many options I hadn't heard of before. Both times I visited, I enjoyed fantastic wines. I absolutely love Spek en Bone—what a wonderful addition to the restaurant family owned by Bertus Basson and Marelie!
Bursting with flavor! Each dish was uniquely mind-blowing in its own right. The sautéed potato gnocchi with wild mushrooms was divine. Every bite was wonderfully robust and delicious. We enjoyed four small plates and two desserts, and it truly was an amazing culinary journey. Thank you, Bertus, for sharing your exquisite taste with us!
This was my second visit to Spek & Bone, and I was truly impressed. Two of my guests are vegan, and there weren't many options for them on the menu. However, with the help of our fantastic waiter MK and the creative chef, they effortlessly crafted some delicious vegan-friendly meals and desserts. I can't wait to return! I absolutely love this restaurant!
Chef Bertus has done it again. Delicious food, perfect wine list and a great vibe and atmosphere. Every dish we ate and shared with friends was a treat.
