The hostess told us they were... read more While visiting the area, we ordered takeout from Down South Cajun Eats to enjoy in our hotel room and asked for plenty of ketchup. The hostess told us they were out of ketchup packets and suggested we stop at McDonald's for some, rather than offering to give ketchup in the cups used for tartar sauce. We requested four cups but were only given two, which didn’t seem sufficient for five pieces of fish and fries. Considering we spent $40, we felt our request was reasonable. After some back and forth, they finally gave us more ketchup, but by the time we got back to our hotel, the food had cooled. Providing good service from the beginning can really help avoid problems like this.

The... read more I’ve been to Down South Cajjun Eats multiple times for both brunch and dinner. The menu offers excellent dishes, with the grits and fish truly standing out. The drinks are potent as well. The atmosphere suits both a casual brunch and a lively late-night visit. The recent expansion adds a wonderful charm to the space. Our server, Cleo, was friendly, attentive, and the service was quick. I will definitely be coming back!
