Traveling home to Adelaide on a SUNDAY in the season- so happy, this place was open (ex star for it! and it's certainly nice to have a quiet lunch here, instead of boldly packed McDonald's! Beautiful outdoor tables, friendly service, had a decaf coffee and homemade lasagna and salad. All very nice and country style - unfussy and easy. View all feedback.
What Gladys Yundt doesn't like about Black Duck Cafe:
Was disappointed by this little cafe. When I selected the jam donut with coffee for afternoon tea, I didn't expect the donut to come out having been blitzed in a microwave so the jam interior burst out like hot lava when I bit into it....A burnt top lip and another burn on my finger didn't do much for my impression of this place. I was traveling back home to Adelaide on a Sunday during the holiday season and was pleasantly surprised to find this place open (an extra star for that!). It was a nice change to have a quiet lunch here instead of going to a crowded McDonald's. The outdoor tables were lovely, the service was friendly, and I enjoyed a decaf coffee with homemade lasagna and salad. The food had a nice, country-style feel to it - simple and unfussy. Overall, a very enjoyable dining experience.
Had a birthday afternoon tea here. Good service, pleasant people, lovely coffee. I had a bacon and egg toasted sandwich. Very nice.
Peter was extremely friendly, the service was fantastic, the coffee was exactly how I like it, and his dinner recommendation for later that day was perfect. Eric and Jan would definitely return when in Stawell.
I had lunch with friends who were visiting from Melbourne for the weekend. The meal was excellent, the service was friendly, and the prices were fantastic. I definitely recommend this restaurant.
