What Nancy W doesn't like about Sally's Southern:
Was there a week ago. Brisket was ok but I was disappointed that it came with Hawaiian bread that I could buy across the street. Why not side it with some amazing corn bread instead ?? Drinks were okay. Nothing amazing. View all feedback.
This restaurant has been on my list for so long and finally got the chance to try. When I arrived I parked on the street nearby. I walked in and was greeted and sat at the bar. Rob was my bartender and he was great. I also spoke to Joan one of the workers and she was awesome too. I started with the pinot nior and it was tasty. For my meal I got the chicken and biscuit sandwich and that was sooooo good. The chicken was seasoned to perfection and the biscuit was soft and succulent. They treated me well and I enjoyed my meal!
Food was delicious, drinks were Amazing. My wife had the Magnolia Margareta and I had the PB J Old Fashioned. Chicken Skin and Cornbread for our Apps, skins were crispy and delicious, cornbread was CRACK! My wife had Fried Chicken with Mashed and ordered Collard Greens and I had the Baby Back Ribs with waffle fries and I had to order the Mac Cheese( 1 of the best I have ever had). Service was great and we will most definitely be returning
Jade, our waitress, was incredibly kind, warm, friendly, and helped fulfilled all our requests will a sweet smile. We came for brunch and were seated quickly and served promptly. The food was unbelievably delicious and below are our analysis of the food: Ribeye steak perfectly cooked to our medium rare liking! It was tender and juicy, pairing beautifully with the charred leek, waffle fries and over easy eggs! Chicken pot pie probably my favorite out of the bunch! Creamy, soft and tender chicken and veggies with a flaky crust, it was heavenly! For less than 20 bucks, this dish was incredibly satiating! A must try I would say! Lobster and bacon Benedict paired perfectly with the Smokey Hollandaise sauce! The lobster and bacon were meaty and it came with a buttery biscuit! Very nice brunch dish! Overall, our experience was incredible and jade was very sweet! I will definitely come back to try their many other delicious items on their expansive menu, along with their daily themed specials like lobster and steak night! Thanks Jade for the awesome service! Thanks for reading and good luck!
I think the last place I would expect to go and a quality Southern Restaurant is Staten Island. But Sally's Southern is just that, an outstanding Southern Restaurant in the heart is the Island. The Sangria was real tasty and came with a nice kick. Two pitchers had everyone smiling. The appetizers were delicious. Corn Fritters, Fried Pickles Mac Cheese. There was also a salad that was very tasty. The main courses were Fried Catfish, Fried Chicken and Baby Back Ribs. Each and every meal was excellent. Sally's Southern is highly recommended for a nice night out to go along with amazing food. On my 2nd visit to Sally's Southern a couple of months later I had the Shrimp Grits for dinner. In one word, Delicious.
With 3 kids its hard to dine out out. So first off, the kids were satisfied with they had to eat, chicken fingers n waffle fries. Caitlin, who was our server was attentive, knowledgeable about the menu and just considerate. She saw we had a baby and immediately thought about our comfort and made sure the exit door was secure to prevent the cold from coming in. Now to the food: I love Screwball, so the PB&J Old Fashioned was great. They make their own syrups in-house for their cocktails. Brisket? Was falling apart. The apple honey bbq sauce was really good. The Pot Pie, one of the best that we ever had. My wife and I were fighting over who was eating it for lunch the next say, she won. Pimento Cheese Empanadas, flakey, cheesy and everything you should expect. Caesars salad, was nicely dressed, could have use pimento cheese croutons in lieu of Fritos. French Onion Soup was banging? Not too salty, lot of flavor. The Corn Fritters were very dry. We were not a fan of the sauce they came with. They should be served with a nice sweet chili sauce or something sweet to balance the savory. The decor felt southern, the lighting fixtures were highly unique, the linens used gave it a southern feel, the bar was also separate from the dining area which was nice for those who want to be at a bar. WE WILL DEFINITELY BE BACK AGAIN
