We had dinner here. The service is very good. At the College of Wine Tourism, you always have a good meal and good service. The high school students who are studying Hospitality are attentive, polite and very well trained. The Banca Ridge wines showcased here are good and are sold at reasonable prices. There is a wide choice of dishes for main and desserts. My steak was beautifully cooked and tender. I was a little s... View all feedback.
What Santiago Douglas doesn't like about Varias Restaurant and Conference Centre:
We arrived on Stanthorpes coldest night of the year to find a gorgeous open fireplace in the dining room that was not being used due a flute(chimney) issue! So we were a little on the chilly side of comfort. The menu sounded awesome, the descriptions could've been from a Hatted restaurant! So when the food hit the table, it had more of a pub grub feel to it. I am however very forgiving if dessert shines and in this c... View all feedback.
Fantastic food, amazing local wines and great service... I had the lamb shank pie and a Banca ridge Marsannne, an unusual varietal with a slightly musky flavour... very yummy.. my partner has the chicken Mignon.. described as tasty ... and there were vegetarian options... the Tempranillo was also very smooth and they served local Brass monkey beer.. all in all well worth the visit when I'm Stanthorpe...
When you have a top chef and efficient staff, you cannot go wrong with your choice of menu ensuring satisfaction as well as a delightful experience. Ambience is top notch as well as the view. Very countrified.

There is a wide choice of dishes for main and desserts. My steak was beautifully cooked and tender. I was a little surprised and disappointed with the green apple strudel which was loaded with shredded coconut. Those who had the cheese platter were extermely happy. Overall, 34 of us were very happy with the meal and service.
We came through Varias with Fillipo's wine tours and so glad we did! I think this was one of the best meals I have had! Being a vegetarian they catered for me too, ensuring the wines matched my dish. And they beautiful arancini balls with cheese sauce, I almost licked the plate clean! Was so nice to see it run by students and doing very well! Would definitely recommend.
This restaurant which is part of the Queensland school of hospitality and tourism is the place to dine in Stanthorpe. Huge, delicious meals with pleasant staff and wine from their own vineyards. This restaurant should be on everyone's place to dine
