A great night in Hopkins! Dinner with Chef Rob Love On The Rocks was fantastic! A must if you are in Southern Belize! Between the 4 of us we had pork tenderloin, beef tenderloin, ribeye steak, tuna and shrimp all cooked for perfection and then kept warm on our rocks during the meal! And beef was very good and tender (if you tried beef in Belize you know) We were also here for a week 5 years ago while we were house hu... View all feedback.
It is said, rumored, in Belize and more specifically in the town of Hopkins, that Chef Rob is the best cook in the country. At first I didn't give too much credit to this information, but when I tried his kitchen and then I met the chef in person I gave it to him. I don't know if he'll be the best cook in the country, but the less, he's a great cook. Both at the culinary and personal level, this Dutchman has been in the area for many years already has a special hand for food and people. Go check it out. In Chef Rob’s Groumet Café as in his little brother Love On The Rocks, he cooks with fresh food from the area that, at times, are used to perpare typical European dishes in the Caribbean style. The star of the letter is undoubtedly the bouillabaise, a traditionally French stew that here takes tropical shades. It's simply spectacular. Although Chef Rob’s Groumet Cafe is almost integrated in the Parrot Cove Lodge, it is not exclusive to guests of this resort – hotel. You are more than welcome in the place though, if, better come in time because the food is so rich and the service so good, the waiters are charming! that it is never exactly empty. If you visit Hopkins and you can only eat at a restaurant, choose Chef Rob’s Groumet Cafe. It's worth a lot. NOTE: If you behave and ask for it please, maybe let you have dinner on the wooden palaphyte that is located on the sea. The moon, the Caribbean, a lobster and you, no more need!
