Had a lovely visit on steak night (Thursday). Staff very friendly, chatty and locals friendly. Cosy atmosphere. Food amazing, steak full of flavour cooked to perfection, good portions and value for money. Catered for dairy free no issues. Will definitely return. Dog friendly, my dog loved her steak. Highly recommend. View all feedback.
What Tom Morris doesn't like about The Boat Inn:
Wouldn’t recommend one bit.. Booked a table for 6 at 2pm, everything was fine, ordered food came pretty fast. But started clearing our plates before we all finished which I thought was rude. Noticed tables had reservation at 3pm they gave them tables away (not to the people that have clearly booked) came to 3pm people are coming in saying they’ve got a table booked.. no tables available. they’ve clearly over booked o... We called to lunch on the way to our holiday for a weekend away. the personal was attentive, polite and honest. the menu for lunch was roast meat sandwiches and chips, which can see some as limited, perfect for us and eating that came to the table was excellent. absolutely delicious and good value. the pub was pleasantly busy for a Saturday on the afternoon and we enjoyed our time there. while we let in our vacation (churnet reach, which we highly recommend also) we read that many people dine on the boat in the evening and there was no bad word for the place to say. well done.
Amazing food, drinks are cheap and a great family atmosphere! will definitely return! very enjoyed our visit.
Visited the Boat Inn by canal narrow boat. Had a lovely home cooked meal of lamb chops with mash and vegetables. The ale was good too. Thoroughly recommend stopping here. Mooring available on the towpath side of the canal and there is a bridge across.
Well if you are looking for a fabulous Sunday lunch come along to the boat inn at Cheddleton you won't be disappointed. Been coming here for a while now and the food has always been good however on our return this time it was under new management so was thinking maybe the food won't be as nice but how wrong I was . Will definitely be back, best Sunday lunch ever and great value for money at £9.99. We had five veg 2 roast plenty of beef mash potatoes Yorkshire pudding and all homemade.
Great location and very good lager. Jubilee Day! Fantastic turnout and busy but prompt service. Memories of 'The Boat ' as it was many years ago. Keep up the good work!! P.S. prices are good too! Alas, all good things come to an end... and new beginnings! Today, we visited to wish Vince and Julia good luck as they left for a new adventure. They will be a hard act to follow as they have turned the inn around during their occupation. Thanks both for being superb hosts and thanks to your lovely staff. Stay safe x
