A small homey diner with GF bread for toast and sandwiches, friendly staff. We ate there for breakfast. Saw a GF brownie delight on the menu but didn’t get it as it was breakfast!

What a wonderful place. The server was very knowledgeable about the need for gluten-free food. The diner has separate toasters for gluten and gluten-free bread. They have only white gluten-free bread and no gluten-free rolls. I was told all the chowders were gluten-free. I was there on a Friday, when they have a special on fish chowder, a beverage, and dessert. I had coffee, a small bowl of fish chowder, and for dessert, I had the chocolate brownie peanut butter cheesecake, which I took with me. 50's and 60's vibe diner with working jukebox.

Whenever I visit this place, it always brings back nostalgic memories from my childhood. The food is top-notch and even better. If I could, I would rate it 10 stars.

Awesome little diner with great GF seafood chowder. Knowledgeable staff who asked about allergy.

I had the large (huge) fish chowder, a full meal in itself: loaded with clams, fish, scallops, lobster, then I had a large order of fried clams. I did not leave hungry: it is everything a Maritimer expatriate wants for a seafood craving. I ate in Carman's when young and this is the first time back to St. Stephen in years. Carman's has just gotten better. And talking about the area with The Donna (she is mentioned elsewhere in comments) was a treat in itself. Thank you, Carman's!!:0)
