Had an excellent Easter lunch. Great experience. Best food I’ve had in town as a local in a long time. Out of town guests were very impressed. Would highly recommend. Can’t wait to go back! View all feedback.
Everything was great, they make sure you enjoy every moment of your evening with them. We enjoy all the food so much. They take so much pride in serving and each item was prepared perfectly. We have ate all over the USA and they are on top of list as far as Food, Service and Presentation. Also enjoyed the Historical Home and how they have worked so hard to decorate. There is so much to see in each room. Do yourself a favor and make reservations to enjoy a lovely evening. They also make sure to cover any special diet needs you have. This is fine dining and fresh prepared food.
Outstanding meal. Wonderful old home. Wait staff and owner were very accommodating. Made a birthday meal memorable.
I 'm not sure if we just got this place on an off night but we were so very disappointed. This was our one year anniversary dinner and it was abysmal. I want to be clear in saying the venue was beautiful and the staff was attentive, professional, and amazing. That said, this was not our first experience with fine dining and their offerings were not even close to deserving of a $140 price tag. We paid $75 (with gratuity at Trezo Mare just Friday night and the food was exceptional. We paid $220 at The Golden Ox in KCMO (including tip, drinks, and Oysters Rockefeller that were incredible and it was mind-blowing. Here we paid $140 for what was basically artfully plated cafeteria food. My boyfriend 's lamb was gamey and overcooked. In the year I 've been with this man he has NEVER not offered me a bite (it 's kinda our thing . He ALWAYS clears his plate. Neither of those things happened this time. I was so sad because I picked the restaurant and he picked the bed and breakfast and I felt like I let him down. My filet mignon was absolutely not filet mignon. I 've ordered filet mignon. I 've cooked it myself. Never in my life has it had the consistentcy and flavor of roast beef. The veggies were absolutely frozen and unseasoned (really, y 'all couldn 't sautee them in butter and garlic? . The mashed potatoes were undoubtedly instant mashed potatoes. Y 'all I have been poor. I have struggled. I know frozen veggies and powdered potatoes when I taste them. These are such bare minimum sides that aren 't complicated to make delicious and they put in zero effort. The crab cakes were lovely but I wonder now if those were also from the frozen food aisle. The cheese souffle was... okay? But kinda tasteless. A dollop of creme fraiche and a sprinkle of chive might have saved it. The salad was...a salad. Dessert was good, but I 'm not much of a sweets person so I won 't weigh in much here. I honestly struggled writing this review because truly the service and people were lovely. But we 're still talking about this poor experience a month later and like, I 'm sorry, but the owners need to know what a total let down this was. For the love of God, please procure fresh veggies, meats, and fresh prep your potatoes. Don 't hinge your entire business on being in a pretty, historic home and just hope people don 't notice you 're serving them overpriced, lackluster food.

I took my wife here for our anniversary and we had a lovely time. The experience is very intimate in sense of guests and seating. Before I get to the establishment I'd like to offer a couple considerations. Due to the limited amount of guest for the evening parking streetside right in front is easy. We did encounter some people that were patrolling the streets so make sure your situational awareness is turned on. You bring your own libations as they do not have their liquor license. We felt a bit awkward at first, but it's the norm here so that diminished quickly after arriving. When making reservations you will choose your entrees a few days ahead of time so plan accordingly. Now to the good stuff! Our table was one of four for the evening all set within a large entertaining room. The room itself is part of an old delightful restoration with a plethora of stories to be told every where you look. Our hosts were the right bit of a jovial refined bunch. My wife had the lamb and I the filet mignon, both were excellent and cooked to order. The dessert was sensation overload in a good way. All in all we had a delightful and unique experience.
