Ches's Famous Fish And Chips

Ches's Famous Fish And Chips
3.5 / 5 (84 reviews)

Description

This fish and chips restaurant offers a nostalgic charm, but recent visits reveal a decline in quality and service. While some patrons enjoyed the crispy fish and generous portions with a quaint atmosphere, others experienced slow service, greasy food, and unappetizing sides. The transition to a counter-order model has disappointed guests, many of whom were deterred by overpriced drinks and prepackaged condiments. Despite a few positive encounters, such as accommodating staff during busy times, consistency remains an issue. Diners may wish to explore alternative eateries for a more satisfying fish and chips experience.

Ordered the one-piece fish and chips, plus the gravy and dressing on the sideTake-out. I got to Ches's at around 7:30pm.

This is my first time to Newfoundland, but I'm a big fan of fish and chips in the states.

Meh. Ordered fish and chips dinner, it was ok, but didn't give me any tartar sauce for my take out which was disappointing. $15 for what I got wasn't impressive. I've gotten better for half the price.

I absolutely love everything about their food—from the fish and chips to the iceberg beer! Every dish is worth it. It was love at first bite!
