Was Andrea Snider at Basho a mag?
Fantastic dinner out! My partner’s family is half Japanese, and even he was impressed! We had the scallops, spicy salmon roll, steak frites, and cod meal. Would definitely recommend each of them. The portions were generous, well seasoned, and creative. You may not think of Japanese cuisine for a vacation meal in Nfld, but Basho definitely is a standout! View all feedback.
What معمر العسكر dislikes about Basho:
had high expectations when we had heard good things about this restaurant. my wife had the sushi and thought it was excellent and enjoyed it. I ordered the dry aged striploin at market value $48) and asked it to be cooked in a rare medium. The sauce that accompanied the meat was very delicious, but the steak was well cooked. not even near medium rare. unless it was completely infallible, I do not believe in sending a...
Went to Basho for a family dinner in December. The teriyaki fillet was incredible! They had a tune poke appetizer as a special, and it was the best I've ever eaten. The cocktails are fresh, innovative, and so delicious! Outstanding service and atmosphere. I would definitely recommend dining here with family, friends or co-workers. The upstairs lounge can also seat diners, and the view is spectacular!
Basho is one of the premiere restaurants in St. John's. Very consistent and always delicious. Sushi is always fresh and handmade and their truffle fries are to die for.
I have visited Basho many times and as usual this trip didn't disappoint in food, value and service! And of course the drinks are the best! It is always a fun experience and the staff is attentive and knowledgeable of the offerings. The food is hot, plentiful , delicious & good value. Our server was very friendly and chatted with us about the food and answered our questions. Never felt rushed and server checked with us many times to make sure we were enjoying the food, drinks and the evening....The owner is always there working side by side! Basho gets it right!
Over all good experience. Had the "Scallops 3 ways" for starter they were good. I had the "Filet Mignon" for my main it was outstanding not a fan of the sides (green beans and white rice rolls). My wife had "California roll" and "Vegetable roll" which she also enjoyed. She had the creamsicle to drink which she loved I had a blackberry martini also very good. Last and certainly not least was desert, we had the chocolate moose it was also outstanding. Service was fine, atmosphere was good.
