My friend and I came here and we loved it! Everyone was so friendly. We did the lunch buffet (not sure if they still do that? . But we had a great time here and the cake was delicious!! View all feedback.
What Teena D dislikes about Stone Crock:
My sister and I drove to St. Jacobs and explored the charming craft shops before having a late lunch at the Stone Crock Restaurant. We both opted for the buffet, which was priced at $12.99 per person. The buffet included a variety of dishes such as salad, mashed potatoes, double baked potatoes, turkey cacciatore, schnitzel, roast beef, turkey with dressing, sausages, corn, broccoli, and more. We popped by for a quick mid day snack while in St Jacob 's. Service was good. I 'm not sure if the food could have been more disappointing. My son and I each had $8 bowl of cabbage soup that had 15 cents of ingredients. My wife 's hummus had 15 cents worth of chips with them. Had they doubled their investment we would have each had a generous portions. The only question a business owner needs to ask is did I just give the customer a reason to come back sadly in this case it 's a no.
For many years my family bought all its meat from Stone Crock Meats Cheese. However, in 2021 the business was taken over by something called the Fat Sparrow Group. All the long time, friendly, and expert staff were gone. The product selection has declined as has the quality a recently purchased chicken pie would have been more accurately described as a chick gravy pie. And, one day there was no bacon a butcher shop with no bacon, unheard of. It's sad to see a local business that we've supported for many years go downhill.
The last time I was here at this location was many years ago when it was a buffet restaurant. The Place now has a new fresh look, very clean, Friendly helpful service and I loved the different options the menue offered it was hard to choose. I decided to go with the German Cider soup with mulled wine and the Delicious Butter Fried Chicken with Milk Gravy the flavour of the crispy chicken batter has me wanting to go back for more lol this meal was a lovely end to my Christmas shopping at St Jacobs and I definitely would recommend this place for anyone looking to enjoy a special meal with big flavour
