What Madge Buckridge doesn't like about Breadsmith Of St. Charles:
Arrived right after they opened, around 8:30am, hoping to get the fresh baked breads. We bought two French baguettes, the peasant round loaf, five blueberry muffins and two banana muffins. The baguettes felt like baseball bats they were rock hard. All the muffins seemed as if they were made a day or two ago because they were dry and hard on the top. I was pleasantly surprised when I visited this restaurant and discovered their amazing bread (and delicious cookies!) The apple bread they recommend for French toast is not just good, it's fantastic! It's now become my go-to order. We were a bit hesitant to try the multi-grain bread, but we were blown away by how delicious it is when roasted. It has replaced English muffins in our household.
