Went after whale watching (2 adults, 2 teen girls) and we really enjoyed the food. Fish and chips were excellent, poutine was good. Had apple blueberry crumble with ice cream for dessert which topped off a good meal. Location is great, parking isn't too bad to find, service was friendly. All in all a good time was had by all. What Aminu Aderonke doesn't like about Lobster Bay Eatery:
We stopped in here the first night of our trip, I ordered the seafood chowder and my husband ordered a hamburger. My chowder was excellent. Warmed my tummy on a chilly night. My husband was not happy with his burger but he is very very picky. It was a little pricy for what we got but they do have specials at lower prices. This would probably be a great place to come sit and have a beer with friends. View all feedback.
When we rolled into St. Andrews at about 7:30 one evening last August--very hungry--we popped into Lobster Bay for soup and salad. Now, three months later, we cannot remember a thing--neither good nor bad--about our meal. So, unremarkable.
The lunch here was great. My son had the lobster and ate every single piece! We ate outside so we also had a nice view.
We were hoping to go out on a whale watch, but the weather turned very cold and windy so our plans changed. Unfortunately for us most of the shops and restaurants were closed because it was Thanksgiving Day in Canada 10/10. Thankfully the Lobster Bay Eatery was open and they were having a special Thanksgiving Day dinner of turkey and all the fixings. Everything, including the pumpkin pie dessert was very good and the portions were fine. There seemed to be a lot of locals there, which is always a good sign. Not a very big place, has a bar and dining room, but waitress was friendly and helpful and the food was good. Would definitely go back.
Vegetarian shepherds pie was very delicious. Mashed potatoes on top were just like mom used to make. There was a love band there on Thursday night and it wasn't too loud or invasive on conversation.
We were in town for the day and stopped in for lunch. The seafood chowder was better than the straight lobster which was a bit sweet for our tastes. The lobster sandwich was loaded with meat and delicious and so were the broiled scallops. Quite enjoyed the small homey place.
