Quint little place down town, just across from the Market. Excellent food especially if you can read Chinese. They have 2 sets of menu, one in Chinese and one in English. the English version is quite a bit less choices. Must try all the barbecued food. food can be spicy but you can request for any level of spice and salt. View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about Chef Mi:
We went for lunch because of the convenient location of this place, right downtown and near the farmer's market. The interior is pleasant and the waitress was attentive. The prices are reasonable and there was quite a variety of different dishes to choose from. Portions were large. However, the food was only so-so. I had the beef stir fry and the beef was rubbery. I probably would not go back. View all feedback.

The restaurant is always very clean, with professional service, nice atmosphere, and good quality food. I'd recommend coming with a group to share several menu items. I always want to try everything which can be a bit expensive between only a couple of people. I highly recommend speaking with the server to help explain the Chinese menu and what you may be interested in. You may need to ask for it. The English menu is pretty generic, however, the Chinese menu is where the real menu items exist. It's really worth trying items from the Chinese menu if you enjoy spicy food, don't mind meat with bones, etc. I particularly enjoy the cold, spicy beef and tripe dish, and the cold, spicy potato dish; great to have these flavors and textures in a cold dish. Great contrast to good hot noodle dishes or fried dishes.
Very good authentic Chinese food, small but clean. Remind me of food one can get every day in China. Note: there are TWO menu: one in Chinese with many more authentic options and another in English with much less choices. I guess you ought to read Chinese to get the authentic food here. Do ask for the grilled appetizers: lotus root, chicken skewer, mushrooms, broccoli - they are great!Chef also willing to try to accommodate your request: such as less oil, salt etc.
