A wide selection for copious lunch at $6.99. Preparation is very fast and usually well prepared. Have had eat-in and take-out. It has been mostly consistent in its quality - rice moist and in generous quantities. The various vegetables are usually just right and the meats lightly and delicately tender from quick stir frying. There's been one exception. I ordered beef with black bean sauce and brought a takeout for my mom, who's in a retirement facility. Because she was a good cook, I didn't hear the end of it! The black bean sauce was bitter, as if it was missing an ingredient. I ended up throwing that dish out, or I'd never hear the end of it from my mom! Otherwise, I've found the food - solid homestyle cooking.

For the best tasting Chinese food in St. Catharines go to China Garden. Look past the dirty windows, tables, floor and counter. Behind all that is where food is created.

I don't know (or care) about authenticity, but I have had food from China Garden many times and it is always fresh and tasty. The portions are ample, the service is fast and the prices are excellent. I recently placed an order for delivery and I could tell that they were very busy. The woman who took the order told me how long the order would take. She called around the time of estimated delivery and let me know I would get a 20% off the price as it would be another 15 mintues. These are good people who make good food.

This is a good deal for a quick lunch in the north end of St. Catharines if you get the lunch special. I like spending the extra dollar to upgrade to noodles instead of steamed rice.

China Garden has good Chinese food! The prices are great, service is quick and friendly and the quantity is reasonable. Their cheese filled wontons are awesome!
