Birch Grove Restaurant & Take-out

We both enjoyed our home cooked meals. We chose the hamburgers, pie and bread pudding. The bread pudding was the best! Would definitely go back.

The food at this restaurant was average at best. Some portions, like the burgers and salads, were on the smaller side. The fish and chips were a generous serving, but the fish was a bit greasy. Many items on the menu are deep fried, including the frozen fries which were not of good quality. The service was just okay, with servers often seen chatting amongst themselves. Despite having a nice patio/deck, the restaurant lacked enough staff to accommodate both inside and outdoor seating. It seems like the restaurant may be catering more towards older and local customers, as it used to be a better place in the past.

We decided to have lunch at this restaurant where we ordered from the take-out window and ate outside. The staff at the window was very friendly and took our order promptly. We opted for a seafood platter so we could try a bit of everything - clams, haddock, shrimp, and scallops. The seafood was all cooked well and flavorful, and the portion size was generous. The only downside was that the fried seafood was placed on top of the french fries, causing them to become soggy by the time we could access them. Despite this, we enjoyed our meal and would consider returning, with a request for the fries to be served in a separate container or alongside the fish next time.

I ordered the lobster roll, knowing I would get fresh lobster on the coast. There was so much mayo mixed in, I thought I would be sick. I couldn't even taste the lobster.

Living in Southern New Brunswick and being a huge seafood fan, I have to say that Birch Grove is one of THE BEST casual seafood spots I have ever been to and Ive been to them all. Highlights? *VERY high quality Food *HUGE portions *Friendly and excellent service I had Single piece of Fish FULL filet and scallops. $21!! I added a poutine to the fries It was served on a platter plate! LOL Im a big guy and barely finished it. I think there were 7 perfectly cooked scallops and the full filet along with a mountain of fries and perfect cheese curds smothered in tasty medium brown gravy. The homemade tartar sauce was excellent and flavourful. Ashley, the server, was friendly food came in 20 mins! (She said loved the Special of the day the fish burger (filet on a bun! and fries for 14.95$ We shared two pieces of pie both homemade peanut butter pie and chocolate pie. Both were exactly what we dreamed they would be, fresh and flavourful! we ended up eating the pie an hour later looking at the ocean (took the pie to go we were too full to eat right after! and Im typing this review at 9 pm and im STILL not hungry and we ate 8 hours ago LOL anyways all around You have to go eat at Birch Grove Great people and great Food! : PS sorry I didnt think of taking pictures,
