Reason, they were cooked in beef dripping.... read more Tail end used to be arguably the best fish and chip shop anywhere. The fish and chips were crispy, dry and so tasty. Reason, they were cooked in beef dripping. Unfortunately they have now decided to use vegetable oil instead. The fish and chips are now just like anywhere else and also leave an oily taste when you have finished. What a great pity.

Nice light crispy batter and lovely well cooked fish, with chips and best tartare sauce I have tasted The toilets were very clean and presentable We were surprised to be presented with a service charge, as this had not been advertised previously, but there was no hassle having this removed from the bill.

What I didn't expect was how engaging they were with the kids. Colouring and pencils. Loads of specials on the board if you don't want haddock. Loved the local brewery options they had for a little tipple. Nothing was too much bother. Little thing I really liked was when you ask for ketchup you get a decent pot not a little thimble.

They serve corn ribs w... read more This is a wonderful restaurant in beautiful St. Andrews. We were looking for something other than pub food and found this wonderful spot. They serve corn ribs which we love and fish was some of the freshest I have ever eaten. The room is bright and well lite. Highly recommend this spot.
