Braxton's menu offerings and actual choices were both delicious and wholesome.
The specialty drink was amazing. The featured beef teriyaki and peanut sauce was delicious. The strip loin steaks were disappointing but the rest of the items on the main plate was good. The creme brûlée was a knock out! We said it was our anniversary but nothing extra was done and no mention of it by our waiter. Overall, good first experience.
Great server; food was terrific;nice birthday celebration. Noise from the bar area shoulf be separated from dining.
Food, presentation and very old fashion atmosphere :
The Braxton restaurant offers a mixed dining experience, with some guests enjoying excellent service and quality food, while others find the service lacking. Some highlight the delicious meals and attentive servers, while others were disappointed by overpriced, mediocre food. The gluten-free options are limited, and some felt the presentation and service did not match the upscale setting of the resort. Despite the hit-or-miss nature of the reviews, many guests praise the crab cakes and specialty drinks, showing promise for a worthwhile visit. Hopefully, future diners will enjoy a consistent and delicious experience at the Braxton.

Dinner was delicious and the service was great. My son wanted his steak cooked just a bit more and the waiter was happy to take care of it.
With it being the Algonquin we expected more. Server was friendly and accommodating with dietary restrictions. Food was overpriced for what we got.
Went for Valentine's Day. Looked forward to the absolutely spectacular mussels we had in May of this year. Very disappointed. They were small, and the recipe was also disappointing. I had to send it back, which is not something I like to do. The waiter and manager were very understanding and apologetic. I ordered the Japanese chicken appetizer, which was very tasty and fun. Overall, the atmosphere was good, decorated for the occasion, and service was very friendly, fun, and quick. We will definitely go back as we are locals, but please bring back your other mussell recipe!! I guess it wasn't the time of year for mussels. They were the smallest I ever had, so not good value for money. Many were closed or not able to eat either. The restaurant does need a bit of a refresh and cleaning too to keep up with the prices they ask.
Unfortunately, my visit to Braxton's was not a favorite experience. There seemed to be a communication issue, and while the food was good, overall the experience could have been improved.
Lovely meal, great atmosphere. Only comnent would be some of the food offerings were barely warm Enjoyed our brunch with our friends

In general, our experience at the restaurant was decent. However, we were disappointed with the limited vegetarian options available. Despite requesting the mussels without sausage, they were served with pork instead. The service was very friendly though.
We ordered a $55 bottle of wine from the menu, but were charged $75. When I asked about it, I was told that the wine's price fluctuates and may not always match the menu. I was not pleased. However, the next day, I received a call from both the food and beverage manager and the General Manager. They more than made up for the discrepancy and I was very satisfied with how they resolved the issue.
We have dined at Braxton's at the Algonquin on multiple occasions. Unfortunately, our recent experiences have shown a decline in quality. Our waitress was excellent and tried to compensate for the restaurant's shortcomings. My wife ordered a new pasta dish which, although tasted alright, arrived cold. I opted for the ribeye, which came with fries (my oversight, as I would have preferred a potato). Regrettably, the fries were also cold and the ribeye was disappointingly thin. The dish lacked vegetables and seasoning, with the steak being served on a plain white plate. To make amends, the restaurant offered us a complimentary dessert. However, the tart and cheesecake appeared as though they had been sitting in a display case for a prolonged period of time.
My fiancé steak was very grisly and a bit rare for the medium that was ordered and the serving size of mashed potatoes was child size . Our server was excellent and we enjoyed our evening there . Overall I feel we could have had more menu choices and larger servings elsewhere so I would not eat there again .
It was just ok. OverpricedPork chop was overcooked, veggies were barely cooked but maybe that's the local preference? Couldn't stab carrot with a fork.Scallops and steak were cooked nicely. The gravy on the steak might have been the best part of the meal.

Terrible service. The waiter didn't stop by once to ask if we wanted another drink or how our food was. The restaurant was completely dead at the time. I expect much more from a gourmet restaurant. We had to request our bill even though he alreadytook our plates away and asked if we were finished. We waited almost 20 minutes after we had finished to get our bill and againthe restaurant was not busy! Menu description wasn't accurate. I personally didn't like my meal but my partners meal was verygood. Not worth the price, will not be returning.
Amazing experience at this restaurant. We had the Braxton's platter to start which had a sampling of everything some of the best appetizers I've had in a long time. The cocktails, mains, atmosphere, and service were all outstanding. Would highlyrecommend if in St. Andrews!
Ordered the medium rare chef's cut and seafood risotto, as well as the raspberry mousse dessert. Everything was delicious!
Had a relaxing lunch on the patio overlooking the property. The only annoyance was some car engines left running while checking in nearby.
Although the service was a bit slow and the menu was somewhat limited I have to say that I had a very enjoyable time at this restaurant. The chard broccoli was surprisingly delicious as were the crab cakes. Salads were tasty. Staff was friendly. There's also a kid's menu for the little ones. I think the atmosphere might be one of the larger draws to this restaurant. It'snice to see people miandering about the hotel enjoying a beverage by a table near the fireplace.

I tried the eggplant couscous dish at this restaurant and it was amazing. The dish came with crispy kale and cherry tomatoes. I requested for tofu to be added, and they happily obliged. It was a delicious and healthy meal.
While the vegan and vegetarian choices are limited, the staff and kitchen are accommodating. The quinoa dish is delicious.
