Chikizza - St. Albans
Chikizza
Description
Despite its proximity, this restaurant has garnered a range of disappointing reviews. Diners report dry, small portions, with some claiming the beef tasted artificial and most meals arrived cold. Service complaints highlight rude staff interactions, particularly regarding quality issues. While some customers enjoyed pleasant side items like chips and salad, they lamented over-sauced burgers and greasy pizzas. However, not all experiences were negative; one bright spot is the highly praised kebab munchy box, with generous portions and great flavor. Overall, while there are some redeeming dishes, the restaurant may leave many diners wishing for better options nearby.

Absolutely the best kebab munchy box in St Albans Lots of meat, plenty of chips and salad and perfect heat for the chilli sauce. Add in a slice of garlic bread and it’s a winner every night of the week also, very reasonably priced.
I would give this restaurant zero stars if I could. It was absolutely terrible - possibly the worst takeaway I have ever had. I regret not taking photos to show how bad the meal was. It was so dry and the portions were very small. The beef seemed fake and everything was overcooked and cold. The delivery took a long time and overall, I have nothing positive to say about this experience. It was a complete waste of money and they wouldn't even give a refund.
Ordered kids meal from here. When food came, the chicken was pink and undercooked. I called to tell them and the guy said it 's not pink ' we serve 150 meals a day and I know it 's not pink. I told him I 'm looking at the chicken and it 's pink. He then said what do you want me to about it? I told him I wanted a refund and he became very annoyed. He told me he had to speak to the manager. When asked to speak to the manager he put the phone down. I called back and the guy said he 's going to refund me and once again put the phone down. Absolutely poor service. Do not bother ordering.
I had a pizza from here recently, and it was greasy to the point where it was slightly offputting to eat. The chicken is alright, but not much to write home about. There's better places for both, nearby.
Many children frequent this restaurant, including my own. I recently discovered from my son that he has had trouble receiving the correct change from a specific employee. It seems that many of the children either didn't notice or didn't bother to check their change before, but now they realize that he rounds up the prices. When my son confronted him, he dismissed it by saying they didn't need the extra change or questioning if it really mattered. This behavior is unacceptable, and if he is consistently shortchanging the children, it can add up. In addition to what I consider to be subpar food, they are taking advantage of vulnerable kids. Even small amounts like 1p to 51p may not seem significant, but it is still theft.
