Okay WOW as I am typing this I am in the biggest food coma of my life. Highly suggest wearing stretchy pants! Definitely worth the 30 minute drive from Santa Barbara ESPECIALLY with the Axxess deal of buy one get one free for the buffet. We got there right at 4am and still had to wait for about 30 minutes but makes sense since it's in the casino. For starters the tomato bisque was amazing! Things I enjoyed were the M... This was an amazing adventure!! We had to be in Solvang for an event at 6:30 so we hit the buffet at 4:30. This was really well timed because when we arrived at 4:30, we walked right in, but when we left about 6:30, there was a huge line!! And this was on a Wednesday. Right away we were seated by our hostess who took our drink order (unlimited non-alcoholic beverages are included with the buffet! . Then we immediately made a bee line for the seafood. Amazing Poké and crab legs! Round two I tried some Asian fare and a slice of pizza. Round three I went for the prime rib with mashed potatoes and gravy. Others at the table went for the brisket. We decided the brisket was the winner. Round 4 was dessert!! We did a pineapple bob shot together which we did NOT enjoy, but the lemon bar and molten cookie made up for it. I was not too sold on the bread pudding. I'd skip that next time. We used our Axxess card for BOGO buffets. So we save $25!! Totally worth it!!
The Buffet at the Chumash Casino...I liked it. They are located on the third floor in the back of the casino. They were a little busy when we arrived for Easter dinner. We had to wait in line for about 45 minutes. They offered bottled water to those in line waiting. They are only opened for dinner at a price of $24.95. Discounts are available if you are a Club Indulge member. The Buffet had everything that I like. I started off at the seafood station and took a plateful of shrimp and snow crab. Then proceeded to their carving station for their rib roast and lamb. The rib roast was cooked perfectly rare. The comfort food station had some tasty fried chicken and candied yams. Because it was a holiday, they even had Passover food like brisket and haroset. Everything I tried was fresh and good. The dessert station had some delicious gelato. The boba shooters weren't good though. Their boba had a consistency of a salmon egg that you use as bait. At $24.95, the Buffet is a great value. The food is good. You can't go wrong. I'll be back if in the area.
Will forever be closed. Never will open. The hotel it is in is putting up a new venue.
Things I enjoyed were the Mac n cheese, pasta, scallop potatoes, mashed potatoes, and salad. Things that were a miss was the Asian section. But overall great service, and probably one of the best buffets I've been to. The dessert section itself is worth the trip! TONS of options for dessert. Overall I highly recommend and will be going back
I have to give this a solid three because about half of what I had I thought was meh and the other half I thought was amazing. I ok very small bites of things and of course did not try everything. I found the veggie options were the best things out of everything I tried. Things I loved. All of these were amazing in my opinion and even if you've never tried any of these things, take a bites worth. You have nothing to lose. Spring salad with chickpeas, cucumber, wontons, Asian salad dressing Brussels sprouts Collard GREENS Scalloped potatoes Cheese bread (are the one slice before I took a pic) Crab legs Grilled vegetables key lime tart lemon bar flan Things that were good ok: Brisket. Nothing wrong with it but I didn't want more Mac and cheese. Lacked flavor and grainy texture (not talking about the crumb topping, talking about the rue/cheese but better than the things that were bad plantains guacamole, this would be higher but for me it was too spicy. I'm also a weakling when it comes to spice. So take that into consideration Mongolian beef. Overcooked and fast food style. Not restaurant quality carrot cake The bad: potato croquette. No flavor and tasted like old frying oil watermelon wasn't sweet and refreshing pineapple was sour cream puff fruit tart cheesecake I didn't find things to be overly salty like one review states but I didn't go for too many things that traditionally have high salt content like soups and sauces. The buffet was $26.88 after tax on a Wednesday night and I would definitely come back here for the good things alone. But since not everything is amazing I have to rate the average and I would say overall it's a 3 star spot.
