We so enjoyed Hef's. We were greeted with smiles and the server was very helpful with any questions we had. I had the small pizza and I was happy I couldn't eat it all..I got to enjoy it again. It was pretty busy by the time we left....then we discovered it was the only restaurant in the area that was open on Sunday. We can't wait to go again! View all feedback.

Food is good, but service leaves something to be desired. There was a table with approximately 12 people, the waitress was at their beck and call, which is fine. But my table of two, which was right beside this one, couldn't get a refill, had to ask for silverware. Had to go to the counter to get ranch dressing, was pretty much totally ignored. The restaurant offers a wide variety of dishes and makes their own dressings in-house, a detail that I find particularly commendable. However, there are occasional lapses in the quality of the food, particularly with takeout orders that may be missing items. Dining in can be hit or miss due to sticky tables and a slippery floor, but with some improvements in consistency, this place has the potential to become a popular destination.
Great food and excellent service
We stopped for lunch on 06/11/19 on our way to Roan Mountain. Half of our family ordered Reuben sandwiches, while the other half tried the Swiss Mushroom Burgers. The flavor and juiciness were amazing! The buns were also delicious. We all enjoyed different types of potatoes and fries, which were very tasty. Our waitress was attentive and extremely pleasant. We would definitely return to Hef's when we are in the area again.
The wings are fantastic, but the pizza is just okay. Stick with the wings if you want an extraordinary dining experience.

So on 3 separate occasions, we decided to call in our order on 3 different Wednesdays, we called at least 30 or 40 minutes only to get a busy signal. Guess the phone is laid off. Take care of your locals if you want your locals to spend local! Won't be back!

Reliable, affordable, and the only restaurant open every day of the week in town with extended hours. When all other options are shut, Hef's is the go-to spot for their fantastic pizza and wing special on Wednesdays. It's my top pick for pizza in Spruce Pine. It can be a bit slow, so be prepared to wait, but it's a fun spot to bring friends for a meal. Not ideal for a quick bite, but worth the wait.
I ordered the signature meatball sub and unfortunately, this was one of the few times I didn't enjoy my meal to the point where I couldn't finish it. I couldn't quite put my finger on it, but after eating half of the sandwich, I was done. I didn't like the marinara sauce and found the meatballs to be terrible. The tater tots were decent, but the homemade ranch dressing was nothing special. Overall, I won't be choosing to eat at this restaurant again.
I had a good experience dining at this pub. Although I only visited once, I enjoyed a delicious pizza and sandwich. The atmosphere was typical of a sports bar and the service was attentive.
Love the menu and they make dressings in house. But it's never consistent and to go orders are usually missing something. We've learned to always check our bag. Eating in can be hit or miss, sticky tables and a slippery floor walking out. I almost fell just walking on a dry day it's greasy or something. If they were consistent this place would be the hot place in town.
My wife and I stopped by Hef's to try it out. It's a small place, not very clean. The waitress did wipe our table after we sat down but there were a lot of crumbs between the table and the wall. They had one waitress working, I don't know if they are normally short staffed (like most places nowadays). I will give it to her, she was trying her best and she was very nice. I started with the Jalapeño Poppers. They were good. My wife had the fried mushrooms. She liked them. I had a burger all the way, it was okay, nothing special. My wife had a mushroom burger, she said the same about it. Prices are not bad. I might try again if I'm in the area for a different reason and hungry.

On 06.11.19 for lunch on the way to the roan mountain. the half of our family had the reubs; the other half had Swiss mushroom burger. amazing taste and skill! the rolls were also delicious! we all had different types of potatoes/frries that were also very delicious! our waitress was very attentive and very pleasant! we would definitely return to hef if we were back in the opposite!
Wings are amazing. pizza is average. eat the wing. they don't want to be average.

We didn't have high expectations when we decided to stop at this restaurant on our way to a friend's engagement party in Morganton. We wanted to support a local establishment and knew it would be busy on a Sunday, so we were prepared for some delays. The atmosphere and food quality were average, which we expected. However, the service was very disappointing. Despite being patient and understanding of delays, we waited over an hour without any updates on our order. When we finally asked our server to check on our food, it miraculously appeared almost an hour after we ordered. The lack of communication and accountability from the staff was frustrating. Despite asking to speak to a manager, we were met with unhelpful responses. We will not be returning to this restaurant, but hope they improve their guest experience for future customers.
Stopped in for a late lunch, and we were happy with the server (Jennifer),who helped with describing all the specialties, and off the menu items.We had the deep fried mushrooms, a Ruben, and onion rings. All were prepared and served by the chef, who's name I regret that I didn't catch, but he was very friendly and made sure that we had everything we needed. Now that's what I call service.
