Rise - Springfield
Rise
Description
Tucked in a lovely spot, this bright, plant-filled café serves standout brunch—think generous sandwiches, inventive bowls, French and avocado toast—and craft lattes with house syrups and plant milks. The vibe is welcoming, Instagram-ready, and accommodating to groups, with quality tableware and attentive moments. Expect counter service and premium pricing with extra charges for condiments; coffee refills aren’t offered. Minor flaws include occasional lukewarm drinks and sparse sauce portions, but overall it’s a delicious, reliable destination for brunch lovers.

The ambiance is definitely enjoyable. I appreciate the well-maintained plants and the music. Overall, it has a nice vibe, and I like the location. The food is of good quality. I tried the Circle B ham eggs Benedict on sourdough, which was really tasty, but I wished it had more of the homemade hollandaise, as it was quite sparse. Some might argue that less is more, but when it comes to delicious sauces, I prefer a generous portion. The dish had plenty of ham, which almost made up for the lack of sauce. The tableware was nice, with quality flatware and cloth napkins, all of which I appreciated. One downside was that my latte was served just above lukewarm—perhaps I should have asked for it extra hot? The service was excellent, with friendly staff. I would definitely come back!
The food was truly outstanding. Both the avocado toast and French toast were delightful. However, I found that most of the menu items felt a bit overpriced for a counter-service place. I wouldn't mind a $45 bill for two people if it included table service, but the prices felt a bit steep for this type of establishment. I also noticed that several staff members appeared to be standing idle, even though the restaurant was nearly full. Additionally, I was surprised by the no-refill policy for coffee. While I can understand it for fresh-squeezed juice, a brunch spot should definitely offer coffee refills.
Rise offers excellent food, but it can be a bit expensive because they tend to charge for any extras like butter, jam, syrup, and more. Overall, it's a good dining spot, and we plan to return. Just be prepared to spend a bit!
Great location, beautiful cafe. However, stingy. Ordered French toast and received 2 pieces of toast with no syrup. Asked for syrup, was provided half ounce and told that because it was grade A maple syrup if we wanted more they would be happy to charge for it and informed they already pay $8 for a dozen eggs. No refills on house coffee. No table service. Bizarre experience
