Reviews summary
Set in a stylish, cozy Springfield dining room, this restaurant is lauded for attentive, knowledgeable service, chef interaction and inventive cocktails and brunch staples like biscuits & gravy and avocado toast. Diners praise the tasting-menu experience, relaxed pacing and well-spaced tables, while critics note high prices, small portions, occasional overcooked dishes and uneven consistency. A memorable, elevated outing for food lovers, but expect premium prices and variable value.

First timer here. I and my accomplice went on a Sunday. It wasn’t very busy and we got seated very quickly. We got our drinks ordered and got some time to look over the menu. I ordered pineapple ginger mock tail. I looked over the menu and saw biscuitsand gravy, that was it. I LOVE biscuits and gravy! Our foods came in a timely manner. My food looks very presentable in thebowl. I took a bit of my food and it sent my taste buds to a flavor dimension. This is most likely the second delicious biscuitsand gravy I’ve tasted. Although it was a small brunch meal, I enjoyed it very much. My meal plus drink were chef kiss. Theatmosphere of the restaurant is calming. The aesthetics is quite pleasing and beautiful. Customer service was great. Overall a10/10.
The experience of this food was amazing. We went on a Thursday evening and the atmosphere was super laid back. Our waitress was aware of my wife’s gluten allergy and the smaller menu meant we didn’t have to look too hard to figure out what we could andcouldn’t have. We started with the “not sushi” appetizer and really loved it. I got the pork chop, and it was without adoubt the best pork chop I’ve ever had. The Moles sauce was delicious, and elevated the meat. The grilled cabbage with onionsauce was so tasty as well! My wife had the chicken, and the strawberry sauce was amazing! Our waitress was so knowledgeableabout each dish, and explained to us what flavors we should notice, and what certain elements were in the dish. You’ll see itin other reviews, but the price is pretty high. However, I really believe we got our money’s worth. If you’re looking for aspecial place to experience amazing flavors and you’re not worried about price, Progress is the place to be!
I'm not a huge fan of doing online reviews of places, but for this restaurant I feel it's necessary. The experience at this restaurant isn't just about the food. It's about the environment, the dynamic, the food, and the adventure you go on with thegroup you're with. Between every course they allow enough time to have a great and deep conversation with your group, but whenthe food comes out they explain how it's made. The flavors which are in it and allow you to truly appreciate everything that'sgoing on. If you are able to go to one of their tasting menus, I truly and absolutely recommended it. These menus allow you toexperience such a wonderful culinary adventure which will create a memory that will last for a lifetime. Lastly, I just have tosay how much I appreciate the staff that they have, everyone is so knowledgeable of each course, they interact with the guest atall times, and lastly you don't feel like you're just another table welcomed in to be pushed out. You understand that when youstart the dinner that it's going to be a experience that isn't rushed but brought to you in courses to experience, process, andenjoy.
Disappointing food at an very expensive price and tiny portion. I understand the service is great and the environment is fancy, however, the portion and price should be reasonable, I don’t mind you charge a even higher price If the food is right. I paid$45+ for a steak and asked for medium rare, but they over cooked it to medium well. This is just not acceptable. The steak wascut at the kitchen, which means the chef, the waiter both saw that the steak was not medium rare, however they just continued toserve it. This is definitely not the quality I’m expecting. The sauce they used they claimed is Asian chili crisp, butunfortunately I buy Asian groceries too so I can taste that’s store bought Asian chili sauce that’s packed with MSG.
BEST dining experience I've had in Springfield. I've gone there for dinner twice, each time I tried a new appetizer, coffee, cocktail, salad, and dessert (I had their Peace Valley Chicken both times because it's just TOO good). Their food genuinelyamazes me and the price is 100% worth it. All the tables are spread out, it's not overly loud, and the environment is clean andcozy. The service was excellent too, super friendly people!

Great spot. Will definitely come again. Hostess was super friendly. Server (Sophie) was fantastic as well. I will definitely be coming back to try the fried chicken, and the brussel sprouts.
First time in tonight, Dani was our waitress and she was wonderful! very knowledgeable of the ingredients of everything on the menu. The Chef even came out and explained our appetizer. Water glasses never got below half full. We will absolutely be back! *I highly recommend the burger and the steak*
I had one of the finest dining experiences I've ever had. The service was exceptional, and the food was incredible! You'll absolutely love it!

To remove food at a very expensive price and tiny part. I understand the service is great and the environment is imagination, but the share and price should be reasonable, I don't think you're charging an even higher price if the food is right. I paid $45 for a steak and asked for medium rarely, but they over cook it to medium. It's just not acceptable. The steak was cut in the kitchen, which means the cook, the waiter saw both that the steak was not medium-sized, but it only served further. This is definitely not the quality I expect. The sauce she used, they claimed is Asian chili-crease, but unfortunately I also buy Asian food, so I can taste that?s shop purchased Asian chili sauce packed with MSG?
I've had the best dining experience in Springfield at this restaurant! I've been there for dinner twice, and each time I ordered a different appetizer, coffee, cocktail, salad, and dessert. I couldn't resist getting their Peace Valley Chicken both times because it's just that delicious. The food truly impresses me, and the prices are absolutely justified. The tables are nicely spaced apart, it's not too noisy, and the atmosphere is clean and inviting. The service was outstanding as well, with incredibly friendly staff!
Went for birthday brunch. We were rushed and reminded at least four times they close at 2. We got there around 1:00. The donut holes were ordered. One of our parties were running late and showed around 1:25. We ordered and had A LOT of mimosas over the course of the meal. And again we?re reminded they close at 2. The food was mediocre at best. The portions were super small. Our brunch bowl $13 was maybe half full and smaller than an 6? dinner salad. The only entree that looked reasonably filling was the biscuits and gravy $8. It was mentioned a couple of times it was a birthday and no acknowledgment was given. Not even a happy birthday. BUT we did get that they close at 2.
This was my first experience with several things: my first tasting menu, my first time trying Foie Gras, and my first visit to a fine dining restaurant. I genuinely enjoyed everything they offered. The Walleye Schnitzel was intriguing; I'm not entirely convinced that the pickled vegetables paired well with the crispy fish, as I've never encountered anything like that before. I will definitely return to explore more dishes.
Our dining experience at Progress was incredible. We visited on a Thursday night, and the atmosphere was cozy and inviting. Our waitress was attentive to my wife’s gluten allergy, and the smaller menu made it easy to find suitable options. We started with an appetizer that we absolutely loved. I ordered the pork chop, which was hands down the best I’ve ever had. The mole sauce was flavorful, and the meat was perfectly cooked. The grilled cabbage with onion sauce was equally delicious! My wife had the chicken, and the strawberry sauce was outstanding. Our waitress was very knowledgeable about each dish, explaining the flavors to expect and the ingredients used. As noted in other reviews, the prices are on the higher side, but I truly believe it’s worth it. If you’re looking for a special place to enjoy incredible flavors and aren’t worried about cost, Progress is definitely the spot!
