I actually hate that I only came here for the first time today because I loved it. Like LOVED it. The chicken biscuit with honey was 10/10, and my husband said he got the best burger he's eaten in a long time. Unfortunately, we skipped dessert, but I think that peach cobbler or banana pudding might have my name on it next time I'm back. I'm told there are brunch options on weekends and live jazz every Thursday. Hubs and I are planning to be back next week for jazz night!

Ambience totally a cool vibe. Great service. Visiting from out of town but boy when I get the chance... I will be back! PS: Pricey but worth each penny

When I received them I was excited until I tasted it. They had no flavor and it was mixed with meat from some kind of fish. There was very little crab meat in it. The crab cakes are $38 so you think your getting good quality crab meat and your not. It's mostly fish. I was very disappointed.

The portions are generous, and I’ve never been disappointed with anything I’ve ordered from the menu. The staff is helpful and friendly, whether you’re getting takeout or dining in. I’ve had the catfish several times, and it's always great. The Brussels sprouts are fantastic, and if you’re feeling a bit overwhelmed by the choices, the sweet potatoes and mac and cheese are must-tries. This is the kind of place you want to visit with family on your first trip so you can sample a bit of everything the menu offers. It’s definitely worth the trip to Springfield.

We began with the fried green tomatoes, which were just as fantastic. My boyfriend chose the fried chicken, collard greens, and mac and cheese, and he was equally impressed—everything was cooked perfectly. For dessert, we shared the peach cobbler topped with ice cream, one of the most incredible treats we've ever had. If you're looking for fresh, flavorful, home-cooked meals, I highly recommend this spot. The service was quick, friendly, and very welcoming.

Although I didn't have the best experience during my previous visit, I'm glad I decided to give this restaurant another try. I attended a small holiday dinner for the Northern Virginia NPHC (Divine 9) chapter and enjoyed the fried pork chops, which I paired with macaroni and cheese and green beans as my sides. The food was so good that I wasn't shy about dropping my fork and eating the meat right off the bone—now that's a sign of a great meal! I noticed other diners trying the grilled pork chops and chicken wings, all of which looked tempting. I even snagged a taste of some greens from another plate, and they were delicious too. I plan to return to sample the desserts. Oh, and the rum punch was a lovely addition while I waited for my food!

We celebrated our anniversary with friends who were visiting for the first time, and they absolutely adored the place and promised to come back. We feasted on blueberry waffles, chicken, steak, fried fish, greens, and mac and cheese—everything was outstanding! A big shoutout to Jerry, Lydia, their family, and the staff. We're so happy to be back at this amazing spot. J&J dined there over the weekend and the food is still fantastic. I personally tried the catfish and grits, which are available only on Fridays and Sundays. Be sure to check out the pictures!

The baby back ribs are tender and so good you'll want to lick your fingers clean. This is truly exceptional home-cooked food, just like what you’d have at home. You can really taste the love and care that goes into the preparation. The restaurant has a warm and inviting atmosphere, decorated with photos of family members and historical figures. I didn't try the bar, but it looked well-stocked with quality spirits. It's a fantastic spot for a first date or a family outing. They offer contactless menus, but you can request paper menus if you prefer.
